I agree that Barnes will become a target of our $dollars$ next offseason. Makes perfect sense to add a player of his ability and his current role on a max'd out roster. He is going to demand big dollars, just like D Green and they will have to make financial decision. I think they will be open to trade talk.
GSW are at the perfect place where they will start to lose players to big offers. Its natural progression of winning teams. They will be better served by trading him for 1st round picks (cheaper).

Lillard - CJ - Barnes - Vonleh - Leonard wouldn't be a bad future lineup in my mind!!

Someone tell me what's wrong with this statement:

Harrison Barnes is to GSW as Jeff Green is to OKC.

I don't know why, but I just can't help seeing Barnes as the equivalent of Green.

That may be true, but OKC also traded Green for table scraps (which was stupid).

It's wrong because the owners are not the same. My understanding is that the GW owners are not cheap. Their investment has already quadrupled. They will spend to keep their team at the top. Especially since they want to move across the bay.

The OKC owners are cheap and stupid. Barnes may be traded, but right now I just think the owners are willing to let him become a RFA and then will match it if he has a good year. If he has a bad year....... then Barnes won't get any max offers.

I think he is stating that Green has not been a difference maker. While on OKC, the general consensus was that Green was going to be a very good to great player. He goes to Boston and is only OK. He goes to Memphis and has been a disappointment.

The correlation is that Barnes may be a "nice" player to have, but easily replaceable.

Yeah, this sums up my feelings. BUT, I think Pinwheel made a great point in response to my fairly vague statement re: Green/Barnes.

Oh Ok. I wasn't sure. And to be honest a little too lazy to look at previous posts.

I do however think that OKC should have kept Green. He was a nice piece off the bench backing up both Durant and Ibaka. A big like Perkins is a lot easier to find. Sure he added toughness, but he had limited skills. I still blame OKC for being cheap.

Agreed! At the very least it should be Harrison F'ing Barnes. Man what a fun thread to go back and read.

So Sinobas, what did you really post on the first page before editing it a year later? :)

Can't we just change the title to "Harrison F. Barnes"? Like Katie F. Compton (cyclocross champion, @KatieFnCompton) for those that may know who she is. As it is said, the F in her preferred title "KFC" doesn't not stand for Francis.

I like it! We all know what it signifies, and yes it's a classic.

I was actually confused when I saw the title without the middle name. I thought it was a different thread. :)

So....we're just offering him $25 million a year next summer after winning the draft lottery and selecting Skal Labisserre?

Yeah, thinking either him or DeRozan, both are tight with Lillard.

Our GAWD squad in 3 years:

    Lillard
    Barnes or DeRozan
    Aminu
    Vonleh
    Labissere

    DYNASTY, SON. DYNASTY.
