The second leading scorer in saturday's game for the cavs was anderson varejao so that kind of tell you where lebron's teamates are. but all these comparisons just lead to stupid comments, some will say kobe sucks or lebron sucks, they don't really lead anywhere.
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting THE DREAM:</div><div class="quote_post">man to be honest Kobe might possibly have the better supporting cast........who are these good shooters around bron.........the only good shooter I can think of (consistently) is Marshall.....Illgauskas is a overpaid bum at center, Gooden is okay, Hughes who's been injured most of the season has only been good in stretches, and Snow has never been known for his shooting.......the level of talent around both men is about the same imo.</div> Illgauskas isn't as bad as you might think. He's a tall cherry picker, but like Brad Miller, can be a spot up shooter. They have Flip Murray, Damon Jones, Larry Hughes. Kobe has a cast of characters who get overexcited in pressure situations. The only shooters I could count on are George and Walton, and in a sense Sasha, but that's it. Give Kobe a cast of shooters, and he will avg around 8-10 asts a game.
<div align="center"><font color=""Black"">LeBron is the closest thing the game has to Magic. Kobe is the closest thing the game has to Jordan.</font></div>
This is coming from a guy who dislikes both players: Kobe is better. Lebron has a better team to work with (by far) a better system to work in (one where he always has the ball in his hands). You guys don't think Kobe could get triple doubles? Please. He doesn't get as many assists as Bron because his teammates can't make shots, and the offense doesn't create many assist opportunities for him. He doesn't get as many rebounds because, not only is he so much smaller than Bron and plays a different position, but Kobe actually plays D. Lebron is able to get rebounds because he roves around on D, not D-ing up the other teams best player, so it's easier for him to get defensive rebounds. Not to mention that Kobe is a better leader and more clutch than Lebron. If each player traded positions, the Lakers would not have made the playoffs, and the Cavs would be a legit contender. This article is crap, the guy is obviously a Kobe-hater who jumped on the Bron bandwagon. I wonder where he was when the Lakers were up 3-1, and the Cavs got blown out twice by the Pistons? And remember, all this is from a guy who, as people on the Laker forum can confirm, doesn't like Kobe.

So your probably more biased then your sig.

That article was shhhht!!!!!!! somebody needs to egg that author's car.... Was he even watching that series??? Or was he getting his facts from espn.com???
Don't get me wrong, I saw that game today (Pistons vs Cavs ), he did make some big shots. But there was some BS calls... I'm not taking that win away from them or anything, but there was some questionable calls... Plus!!! like someone said earlier in this post, EVERYBODY seems to forget the supporting cast around kobe... I guess Kobe should've just threw up shots, even though he was doubled/trippled teamed just so idiots like this one writer could write about something worth reading....
it's a nonesense article. Laker fans, don't pay attention of this idiot, he was writing the article to get the attention. Ya know, there is no better way to seek attention than to bash the best player in the league! As for Lebron comparation, Kobe NOW is better period! End of story. Lebron will be better when Kobe get old like MJ of Wizzard or when Kobe retired. Kobe will never let Lebron surpasses him; his determination and will power are unmatch with an exception to MJ. Eitherway, Kobe and Lebron own the league!

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Flow:</div><div class="quote_post">I don't think that Kobe would be better in the Cavs unifrom than LBJ.</div> And why would you think that?
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting YourNewChef:</div><div class="quote_post">This is a totally biased article. You have to take into consideration that Kobe doesn't have the greatest shooters around him. Just because he has little assists, doesn't mean he doesn't pass the ball. Lebron gets all those assists because he has good shooters around him. I bet if the Cavs had a sup-par cast around him, his assists would drop dramatically. Columinsts fail, as usual, to look what Kobe has around him compared to Lebron.</div> Actually, the Lakers were a better three point shooting team than the Cavs, if you exclude Kobe and LeBron: <div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><br/><font color=""Navy"">3PM3PA3p%</font><br/>Lakers, no Kobe<font color=""DarkGreen"">4.513.034.9%</font><br/>Cavs, no LeBron<font color=""DarkGreen"">4.513.234.1%</font><br/></div> And using the numbers from 82games, you can closely estimate the effective fg% on jump shots of the Lakers (not including Kobe) and the Cavs (not including LeBron): <div class='codetop'>CODE</div><div class='codemain'><br/><font color=""Navy"">jump shotsefg%</font><br/>Kobe<font color=""DarkGreen"">171746.3%</font><br/>rest of Lakers<font color=""DarkGreen"">264442.8%</font><br/>LeBron<font color=""DarkGreen"">116741.7%</font><br/>rest of Cavs<font color=""DarkGreen"">274442.7%</font><br/></div> So, it appears that on overall jump shooting, the LeBron's teammates aren't any better than the Kobe's.
I saw it, and the funny thing was, the referee was right there with probably the BEST view of it. I know for a fact that shot wouldn't have counted if it was on the road in Detroit. But since it was in Cleveland and since it was LBJ, they let it slide, which is complete bullshit.
I think too many people are jumping on the LeBron bandwagon. This is Kobe's time. Kobe is the better scorer, defender. Kobe is the best 1 on 1 player in the league right now. Not James
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trench:</div><div class="quote_post">anyone else see that three pointer shot after he stepped out of bounds?</div> Actually on the TNT postgame show, they showed it from a different angle and he was in bounds. Back on subject though. It's too hard for me to compare them. Kobe is a better shooter and defender, while Lebron is a better rebounder and passer and is arguably a better driver(about even there). I would give Kobe the advantage on Clutchness, but Lebron has like 3 game winners already, so I will say push. They both are great leaders, they both have great determination. Kobe just shows his on commercials, while Lebron doesn't, that doesn't mean that Lebron isn't determined. For now I would say Kobe is the better player, but I think Lebron will probably pass him in 2-3 years(if not next year).
<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Trench:</div><div class="quote_post">The no call on Rip was BS too. It should have been a foul. Everyone saw it.</div> Are you talking about at the end of the game? That was an offensive foul, if anything. Varejao was set, outside the circle. But in that situation, I thought no call was appropriate.
<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">So, it appears that on overall jump shooting, the LeBron's teammates aren't any better than the Kobe's. </div> Thank you......Kobe doesn't get as many as assists, for the simple fact that Kobe is a scorer 1st...the help around both men is equal....he's not half the floor general that Bron, Nash, or Billups are....My biggest problem with Kobe (don't jump all over Kobe fans) is that it seems as if he doesn't have a balanced attack....sometimes I think he overshoots the ball and takes bad shots, while other times he's too passive (like certain games in the Phoenix series).......Kobe has to learn to get his within the flow of the game, with everyone else still getting there's......Even when they were winning their first 3 games against Phoenix I thought Kobe was being to passive.......being a team player doesn't mean taking 1 shot the whole half, he needs to take his shots if the lakers are going to win, but at the same time don't overshoot and take your teammates out the flow of the game..............just an honest opinion. <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">Kobe is the best 1 on 1 player in the league right now</div> Too bad this is the NBA and not a street ball tournament....and please stop with the Lebron gets his calls.....every superstar (Kobe included) gets their fair share of calls....I can't how many times over the years where I saw Kobe and Shaq get away with certain things.....it happens to every superstar, it shouldn't, but it does.
