You think people don't like baseball because the media tells them not to? :biglaugh:

Could you imagine the total mind fuck the Giants would have over every team in the league in 2018 if they won this year?

Also poor Cubbies being great on an even year. Lol.

The Mariners are predictably coming back down to earth so the little bit of interest I usually reserve for baseball every season is close to being out.

I like watching baseball. However, for me anyway, it's a great background sport. Like it's on, and I watch, but I don't have to be completely tuned in for the entire game. Great plays happen, I subconsciously hear it and see the replay, or rewind my DVR to see it in "live" action. I am a Yankees fan, and have been since I was young and Thurmond Munson was my favorite player. Since moving, I have become an Astros fan to some point. I like seeing them do well. My kids are huge fans, so it's something we can root for together.

Yankees are crap this year. MLB.TV has become a daily let down. Hal Steinbrenner is a penny pinching fool. The.only thing to look forward to is the trade deadline. At least the Mets have the phenomenon that is big sexy.

Only thing MLB related I'm interested in this year is Ichiro's 3000 MLB hit. He's been on fire this year, hitting about .350 and is only 21 short of 3,000.

I love baseball and this year is the first season I've watched a lot of teams play...I'm not invested in any team but at work the Mariners are the team..started to get to know their roster...I like the Giants and can't stand the Dodgers. Bring back the Portland Mavericks!

The Mariners are now .500 and in third place in their division. They have to be top 5 on the list of worst American sports franchises.

They really have trouble hitting into the gaps and leave a lot of guys stranded on base...injuries messed them up for a month and they need left handed closers.

Their ownership haa been terrible. Maybe one of the worst groups in sports history. Bill James did in an analytical study of historically underachieving teams and the Mariners won in a landslide...... They had three of the top 50 greatest players at one time and never won a championship. And one of the saddest things is that they'd have just kept that core of players together..... a little longer..... I'm talking one or two years, would have guaranteed them a championship. Trading a gold glove first baseman who hits 35 homers a year in Tino Martinez for Sterling Hitchcock and some other nobody. That's fucking insane! You never trade young talent in baseball unless it's for like talented players BACK.... you can make lopsided trades in football and basketball because the draft gives you immediate players. The baseball draft never guarantees you anything! They literally kept the team together to guarantee that King County would build Safeco Field then started selling low. It's really a tragedy. And with Pat Gillick taking over as GM they still set a record for regular season wins. NW fans have really been f-cked over by baseball in general. Nothing ever stays permanent here. So I don't blame them if they hate the game. Just don't hate it because it's cool to do so.
