Who would he have been benched for? Barton? Who at the time would make the exact same dumb ball stopping plays Swanigan did this year. Robinson, Crabbe, Claver, Gee, Wright? Lets keep in mind Wright was the forum whipping boy, much like Nards is. Claver couldn't hit a shot to save his life. Gee lol. Crabbe lol. Moe? Another forum whipping boy. CJ had yet to break out, or really show he'd be more than just a spot up shooter. When your sub who is very much less talented than you, yet plays better than you simply by making the right basketball play. Any coach worth his value will bench you. People on this forum used to be angry when Sarge would pull a hot player. This year they got upset because 'Nurk should be playing over Davis regardless which one is playing better'.

If you're trying to make a statement to a player by benching him, it doesn't really matter who you put in.
