It's nice to see Johnny Boy picking on someone other than the Blazers for a change.

And yeah, I'd match the offer within seconds of receiving it. Facial!

Only if we also use that time to sign Shved out from under them. :ghoti:

You do what Churchill did when talking about the Nazis versus the Soviets (yes I'm Godwinning this bitch!): make sure the fight lasts as long as possible.

Just to fuck with Khan, Olshey should ask the T-Wolves for permission to speak with Adelman.

We have a winner. I don't know Shved from Shinola, but if I had Allen's money and this were my toy, I'd sign him just to bust Kahn's balls.

I think it's in the Blazers best interest to wait the full 3 days. This way they can continue to potentially do deals before putting Batums salary on the books.

If the Blazers want to sign anyone else, or think they can get a lopsided trade done, I'd wait to match until they've crossed those t's and dotted those lower-case j's.

Otherwise, I'd match immediately, and let Batum know you want him and get the team set, so people can just focus on what they need to do next. This would also put the Blazers in a more positive light in this whole craptastic situation, rather than just letting the offer sit out and making the T-pups suffer any longer.

Wish someone would ask Kahn: "Why, if you're so committed to Batum, wouldn't you make a valid S&T offer? Did you actually think you had leverage?"

Follow up: "So you're essentially trading picks in order to save face, that right?"

Yeah you have to wait so you keep cap room available in case an offer pops up.

Thats odd Kahn said they have no agreement for Roy or Shved; my guess is they can't be on the record as saying there is a binding agreement until they actually make the agreement. Otherwise I think the NBA can charge those agreements to your cap as Miami did with Alonzo Morning back in the day.

    Good point.

Kahn has looked like a complete moron through this situation, so I'm going to assume that he thinks the offer of the picks is adequate value.

It would be kind of funny if Olshey didn't match. And just made Khan jump through a bunch of hoops for his own amusement.

CSNNW speaks with Kahn, Batum did sign the offer sheet

Chris Haynes, CSNNW.com Trail Blazers Insider (@ChrisBHaynes)

CSNNW.com reported earlier this week that Portland Trail Blazers restricted free agent, Nicolas Batum, has already signed Minnesota's offer sheet worth four-years, $46.5 million.

Minnesota's general manager, David Kahn, was asked about that signing during his teleconference and Kahn responded saying Batum can't sign the sheet until Sunday.

CSNNW.com immediately got in touch with Kahn after the teleconference and he explained that Batum did sign the offer sheet on Thursday, but since Minnesota had no cap space at the time, the league ruled the offer sheet invalid and Batum must sign it again.

Hopefully, that sets the records straight.drummerrob26

I hope for our sake that is not true. Kahn can't be that dumb.
