Although highlights can be deceptive, Diebler looks like he's not just another spot up shooter. He can shoot on the move or on the dribble (somewhat) and with a defender on him, instead of how some 3 point shooters can only shoot 1 kind of shot (wide open).

I can promise you that Rudy would have helped us win more games next season then this guy will. He's Babbitt's backup!

Diebler can actually get his shot off. Babbitt has a slow trigger.

On a side note....JFizzleRaider, love your avatar. I actually still have that SI of POY Gary Payton in pretty damn good condition.

Agreed (obviously). Of course we didn't trade Rudy for the 51st pick. We got robbed, but not that badly.

I would hope so! Babbitt's an All-American picked at #16 with a year of experience. If he isn't, then we fucked up LAST year's draft, not this year's.

(Yeah, yeah, we fucked up both. But there's degrees of fuckedupitude.)

Love the cover. Payton is an all-time great. Wish I would have been a little older to have seen him at OSU.

The Blazers keep trying to draft guys who are "ready to play"... but that's not smart when you consider a 22 year-old SHOULD look good against his younger peers at the NCAA level.

I have nothing against the Diebler pick, though. He's a one-trick pony and the odds are long that he ever makes any sort of impact in the NBA... but it was a late second rounder, so I can't be too upset.

Babbit's issue is all about confidence, either he starts believing that he belongs in the NBA or he will be out of it very soon...

He is actually a crafty scorer...I watched him get off shots in the paint (in the limited time that he played) that I thought would have been hammered back into his face, so he has the ability to score IMO....His outside shot was spotty at best, but again a lot of that has to do with confidence IMO....the ability is there...

He looked like a deer in headlights...He has to get mentally tough or he will fail...

JD: I went to New Jersey in May for the group workout. I went to Oklahoma City. I went to the pre-draft combine in Chicago. Went to the Pacers, went to Portland, went to Phoenix, went to Memphis, went to Jersey again and then Chicago, I believe. I think that’s all of them.
