why not? You’re standing on the Hammon hill and Fizdale is a lot more qualified than her. And we’re talking about an assistant, not a head coach.

Took the Job that probably would have been Stott's

Still has ORL, WAS, or NOP to fall back on

doubt he gets any of them. My guess is he either takes a year off or joins carlisle in Indiana.

Hammon and MDA, a bit cold on Billups, but honestly i'm good with any of these guys provided the proper vetting. But we've seen Fiz fail miserably in two spots (yes not unlike Stotts).

For assistants, I'd rather let the HC hire people they're most comfortable working with rather than force someone down their throats.

Fizdale worked with Billups at ESPN and Chauncey praised him when the Knicks hired him. I’m pretty sure whoever gets hired will be able to hire whoever they want, like Stotts did.

I am laughing writing this and I hope its not annoying but I know Fizdale from San Diego. Such a good dude. Best personality, easy to see why players like him. I have no clue if he has changed though, money and fame does that. But he was an assistant coach at USD, and we coached camps together each summer. Easiest guy to talk to, great coach, if I was him I'd take all that NBA money he got from two failed jobs, wait for USD to open up, and have an incredible job in one of the best cities in America with zero stress

Inside track to keeping Norman Powell too then.

Fiz seems like a great guy to have.....as an assistant. Everyone in Miami loved him and unequivocally vouched for him to be in a head coaching position, but I think he was in over his head as the top guy.

I like the idea of having a former HC as an assistant to someone who hasn't been a HC.

At this point, if it was Becky I think they would have announced it.

I think it's Billups or another coach who's still in the playoffs.

I think someone is hitting the weed hard, based on some of what I see here.
