It's not bad. He is doing his job. The allegations are concerning no question. The hire was probably always going to be Billups.
If this team doesn't win and i mean WIN NOW this will be a disaster.

It’s not the actual complaints it’s just the repetitiveness of it all.

I hope they are successful. JC has been wrong. One thing i have to give him credit for he does come back when he is without a doubt wrong and write a followup.

Now Quick? Nope. Never gonna happen. He only writes in ways that he can straddle the fence completely.

Much like the repetitiveness of the complaints of the repetitiveness?

Some of it was....and the previous post aknowledges that. Was that part of the post missed?
But there were also thoughtful, well written posts taking issue with Stotts and/or Olshey. Thought that was what this forum was for.

I am just curious, I honestly don't know much about Hammond as a coach, but why are other teams not lining up to hire her? There were 6 head coaching jobs this offseason and the Blazers are the first were she was a finalist. Why are other teams not hiring her? Why is she not getting second interviews with other teams? Just seems like a lot of people think the Blazers messed up for not hiring her, why was she not a finalist for Boston? Indiana? Dallas?

    they all hate women.

nah, I think it’s because her qualifications are limited. She’s only coached one system. She hasn’t played in the NBA. Does anyone even know specifically what she’s responsible for with the Spurs? She’s a big risk, and it has nothing to do with her gender. I’ve mentioned before but she should expand her resume and go coach in other systems.

Is playing in the NBA really all that important? Because otherwise, you've described Billups.

Perhaps the WAY he played on top of that he just played. High Draft pick who struggled early and worked his way to being a leader, a clutch player and a respected voice on the court in winning an NBA title.

billups has more experience in different systems than Hammon, so I’d say so.

I know some people doubted you, but I believe you. These weren't her first round of interviews either. I bet she won’t be the first woman head coach in the league.

She's a woman. Teams hesitate to be first to hire a female head coach.

I go to Blazers edge and while i understand why some are concerned but that site has turned into Cancel Billups Edge and it really annoys me that cancel culture has taken over that site. It has to be said AGAIN ( for the umteenth time ) these allegations were over 20 years ago and since then from what we can tell he has been a model citizen BUT let's assume this happened just as the woman claimed again over 20 years and great record so Billups deserves a second chance and should NOT to be canceled.

I thought this was a society of 2nd and many more chances but the last few years we have gone from a nation of forgiveness to just go away and never return aka " Cancel Culture " and sure there are some that deserve it Weinstein and other predators who have used there position and fame to do bad stuff but unless one you people who want to cancel Billups can SHOW me and others PROOF he has shown continued behavior like this through the years then just please go to B-Edge and spout your BS there i am tired of reading it.
