Bert Koldie will have input and it wouldn't surprise me he's the one that has expressed interest in Barry. Didnt Barry play for the Sonics at one point? 5 years. There's that Seattle connection.
Do you actually trust Olshey to make this decision? I sure as fuck don’t. I’m not sure I trust his judgement whatsoever after leaving Terry in charge for 9 years, the Summer Spending Spree of ‘16, FA offers to Roy Hibbert, Festus Ezeli, Chandler Parsons, etc etc.
Well he gets one chance to get this right. If he fucks up, he’s gonna be fired and Dame will also likely request a trade. No pressure!
And won two titles while playing for the Spurs, and is currently employed by said team. Me thinks this is more about hearing from the Spurs organization about his qualifications, and hoping to model the team after the Spurs success than it is anything to do with him playing for the Sonics...almost 20 years ago.
yeah, I wasn't disagreeing with the list. Just wondering about the prevailing opinion that Portland needed and experienced coach and Nick Nurse and Spoelstra stepped into coaching teams with a hell of a lot more balanced talent that Portland has right now
Nurse stepped into a situation that wasn’t done case of managing superstars. They had Kawhi and outside of that it was about as many role players as it gets. Kind of like our situation
She did coach the Spurs to the Las Vegas Summer League Championship in 2015, with a record of 6-1. The players apparently were very receptive to her coaching style and indicated she was a “player’s coach” and a “firecracker.” She’s definitely worth an interview but I think this is Billups’ job to lose (unless he is offered and accepts the Celtics HC job).
nahh...they had defense all over the court, three two-way wings, two excellent PG's, and a pair of savvy big men. It was a very well balanced roster without any significant holes. The pieces fit together really really well Portland really doesn't have any of that
