Yeah, it's my impression that gas jockeys are a different, and older, set of people now than they were back in the day. Then again, maybe everyone thought I was creepy back when I was pumping gas on the graveyard shift - but at least I was blissfully unaware of it at the time. barfo
So everyone that travels to PDX, where NIKE is, and what he wears should be rumored to Portland somehow?
He was correctly viewed as a temporary patch job. He'd already been quickly fired twice. Atlanta and Milwaukee said he was good at offense, but so bad at defense that he had to go.
Marc Iavaroni was one guy I remember. I think maybe Dwayne Casey too maybe Sally Jessy Rafael as well

ivaroni vs during the mcmillan hiring i think. remember Quick having a front page article about him in the O saying he was offered a job. https://www.espn.com/blog/truehoop/post/_/id/117/meet-marc-iavaroni The must-read Blazer article of the day is from the Oregonian's Jason Quick: Marc Iavaroni will become the next Trail Blazers coach, The Oregonian has learned, after the team offered the Phoenix Suns assistant the position late Thursday. Iavaroni, 48, will accept the job as early as today, a source close to the talks said, exactly one week after he was interviewed for the first time at the Chicago pre-draft camp. Blazers general manager John Nash insisted late Thursday that the job has not been offered to anybody. Earlier Thursday, owner Paul Allen said the team possibly would wait until after the June 28 draft -- where the Blazers have the third pick of the first round -- to hire a coach.
If people in the know around the league say "Billups is Neils guy" I would tend to think he will be the front runner. Unless Mike D can convince him he'd bring in a d specialist?
After that press conference, I don’t see how Neil could justify D’Antoni. His teams have been just as inept on defense as Stotts’ have. I get no one was charged, but that rape allegation and subsequent settlement isn’t a good look for a GM no one cares for either. Canzano, Quick, Turtle will all have field days with that hire unless it’s handled immaculately at the presser. If Dame is on board, Hammon is an easy sell to the fan base and Jo Lynn. So is Udoka, Vanterpool (who I still think will get the job), or another young black assistant
