and reversely, if Republicans had come up with the same shitty plan, Democrats would be screaming bloody murder. The whole thing is a show. Obamacare was simply another bipartisan scheme to steal from the working class and most of the fighting about it is just bad faith actors pretending to defend a side.

So bipartisan every Republican voted no after it was weakened in hopes of getting Republican votes.
And actually Republicans did come up with the plan. It is based on Romney care.

News Flash, the Republicans did come up with pretty much the same plan. It was a Republican proposal that was a counter to Hillary Clinton's plan when she was First Lady. It came out of the Republican Think Tank, The Heritage Foundation before Obama graduated from law school. By the way, Romney actually implemented the plan when he was the Republican governor of Massachusetts. Do you mean you never knew this?

I know it. I’m saying if it was a Republican in office who implemented the plan then the bitching would be in reverse.

When Romney implemented the plan in Massachusetts, everyone said how well the plan was working. He was complemented by both the Left and the Right.

Tell that to my brother who only has healthcare because of Obamacare.

Or me, because I have a pre-existring condition but am able to get insurance and even shop for better rates.

    "Show," my ass.

I personally know three people who never had health care before ACA.

Instead of fixing the problem of overpriced healthcare, Obamacare just made it compulsory. It’s protection for the trillion dollar insurance industry that the writers of the bill all have their fingers in. A handful of people living in poverty received free healthcare, which is good for them and provides a few anecdotal feel good stories for PR, but it’s payed for by the working class having their rates go through the roof and having their taxes literally stolen if they don’t comply. And most of that money is funneled straight to the top. It’s a mafia racket by definition.

A couple anecdotal feel good stories don’t make Obamacare good or fair. It’s a literal scam. Obamacare is shit.

The fact that lifetime benefit limits are gone is not just a story. It is a fact. Obamacare is not shit.

    Preexisting conditions, too.

Just because it isn't perfect (it certainly isn't) doesn't make it shit. It's a major improvement over what was there before.

Would you like me to tell you about the workplace insurance that charged me more because I am a woman? Now illegal. About plans that covered every prescription except birth control? Also now illegal unless employer claims Jesus. ACA has problems but still an improvement. Now make it better.

I'd much rather see full-on Medicare for all than an Oromneycare scheme designed around corporate profits.

So would I. But I would rather see this than repeal and not replace.

Yep. But some progress towards that goal is better than no progress.

It is shitty. No question about that. It's just a lot less shitty than what we had before.

Oh yes, it most certainly is shit compared to what most other first world countries enjoy at a far lower cost to taxpayers.

It's a small step in the right direction, but it is still incredibly shitty.

It really should be called Heritage Foundation Care because some people need to be reminded of that daily.
