Speaking to Mexican media, Hector “Macho” Camacho expects to be fighting the winner of the Miguel Cotto vs. Ricardo Mayorga fight. This will be Camacho’s final fight before he finally retires. Camacho is 48 years old, but the way that Cotto has been performing and the lack of boxing skills on the part of Mayorga, I can see elderly Camacho taking either of them out by decision.

In his prime Hector Camacho was one of the best boxers in the sport. His flamboyant attire opened up the boxing sport to sensational clowns like Prince Naseem Hamed and Jorge “Maromero” Paez. Camacho could do anything, he fought everybody; he could knock out Sugar Ray Leonard for the IBC middleweight title, then immediate fight Oscar de la Hoya for the WBC welterweight title in his next fight. Roberto Duran would hurt his feelings and make Camacho cry, and then Camacho would decision Duran in two fights for the middleweight and then the super middleweight title. Camacho would fight Julio Cesar Chavez for the junior welterweight title and then a few fights later face Felix Trinidad for the welterweight title. Camacho had so much skill that he could have probably fought heavyweights and survived. Camacho never lost a fight by knockout.
