as a Duck fan....Yay! Go Ducks!

I hope he stays healthy and has a great season. Oregon has a much tougher schedule next year. But I do know a couple of pretty well connected alums and the rumors have always been that NFL money is lower on Herbert's list of priorities than it is for most college players. Reportedly, he's in pre-med and wants to get his degree before he leaves. He also wants to play with his brother

I wasn't all that impressed with Herbert this past season. I hope he has a great 2019.

Thank God. I did not want the Raiders to have the opportunity to draft him. In the multiple games I saw of him this year he was not ready at all for the NFL. Great decision for him and good for the Ducks too.

Honestly as a Duck fan I have never really seen the hype. Sure is a lot better than there back ups have been. He doesnt seem like the type of QB who puts the ball in tight windows consistently. I havent really seen him take over a game. It seems like the whole #1 talk was mostly because of his measureables, not his play.

I hope he has a much better senior season than he did this year. Hopefully that awesome recruiting class, and an older O-Line equates to a 10ish win season next year.

Some receivers who can actually, you know, catch the ball, will help too

Huge mistake. He’s walking away from millions.

I am glad he's coming back but that receiving core was about as good as our collection of small forwards. It's literally Dillon Mitchell, who's a future NFL player, and a collection of n0 hopers. They have got to find at least two decent wide receivers and one TE who can run a decent 10+ yard route. Redd, Johnson, Schooler and Breeland are hopeless as pass catchers.

Is he thoguh? Bosa is the consensus #1 pick. Haskins is potentially surpassing Herbert in QB rankings. And virtually none of the top teams actually want a QB right now (Giants excepted). If he's better this next year than last (likely, IMO), he'll have a much better chance of being a top-5--or even #1--pick in 2020.

He would undoubtedly be a top 10 pick.

If he slips in the draft next year it could be a blessing for him as he could end up with a team with a decent O line, similar to Prescott.

The Ducks have some really good recruits though coming on offense next year to help Herbert. Mycah Pittman has a good shot of contributing and I wouldn't be surprised if Herbert's brother gets some time at TE since Cam McCormick is never healthy. They won't be starters, but considering we pretty much lived and died by our run game this season, that's a decent start at an balanced offense.

Worst thing that could happen to him. First because he is not anywhere near ready, and second because he would be stuck with a sub-par supporting cast. Sure, he gets that big rookie deal - and then he leaves millions on the table as his career is cut short by injuries and psychological destruction.

The ideal situation for a rookie QB is the late 1st round. He still gets paid, has a good team around him, and gets the time to adjust to the pro game.

I think he'll still be 1st round next year but will likely go to a much better team which could be great for him. Another year of experience and learning to go through progressions will only help.

I'm stoked about Justin returning because I feel he needs another year to refine his game. He has all the tools, and feel the coaching staff needs to explore more of a pro style offense to suit his skillset. That read option thing under utilizes his abilities. But I love Coach Cristobal and feel he's got them going in the right direction. Excellent move IMO. Go Ducks!!

Dwight pretty well verbalizes how I felt about Herbert's 2018

And the press were the ones building him up as a top prospect.
The kid really wasn't and isn't ready yet, and he knew it.
