He wasn't ready....but he also seemed to regress a bit last year. I know he didn't have good WR's outside of Mitchell but he looked better the year before.
yeah, it wasn't a great year, but consider what Herbert had to work with The year Mariota won the Heisman he had Royce Freeman, Thomas Tyner, and Byron Marshall at RB threats. Those type of RB's will get the attention of the defense but more than that, he had Darren Carrington, Devon Allen, Dwayne Stanford, Byron Marshall, Charles Nelson Keanon Lowe, and Pharoh Brown as receivers. 8 receivers that were much more of threats than anything Herbert had besides Dillon Mitchell. All of the guys Mariota was throwing to could pretty consistently gain separation from defenders; nobody but Mitchell could do that this year finally, because Cristobol was so intent on establishing a new identity he kept running inside, over an over. In the Stanford and Washington game, prior to the last couple of minutes of the 1st halves, the Ducks ran on 29 of 31 first down plays. Hebert spent a lot more time in 2nd and 9 situations than Mariota did
You guys realize there's a Ducks forum on S2? Always wondered why nobody uses it but the NY Yankees get traffic on their forum
i agree, he wasn't all that accurate in the last few games. That being said, he's still got the tools to take it to the next level.
So Herbert is coming back AND he's going to sport a fro is Senior year? That's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for him.
God dammit, I was going to walk on for the Ducks at QB this summer. Herbert just ruined that for me! Bastard! Looks like I'll have to wait until 2020.
