Yeah Kobe didn't show up today, but as others have stated, I'm sure the amount of minutes and shots Kobe's been taking recently have worn him down (the poke in the eye didn't help either). The guy needs to rest a bit more in the second/fourth quarter.

The Lakers are going to have games when they struggle to score, and we aren't capable of making stops and shutting teams down defensively on those nights.

At least if we face the Suns, we have size to get us back in games, because Phoenix gives up a lot of offensive rebounds and second chance opportunities. The Spurs usually hold teams to one and done.</div>

Shape, for God's sake, it's the Memphis Grizzlies we are talking about who were playing without their starting point guard and forward. So that means we were playing the WORST team in the NBA on a night where Chucky and Miller weren't playing

I don't see any positives what-so-ever, and I really hope you are not comparing this washed up Grizzlies team to the San Antonio Spurs in any way, shape (no pun), or form.

The Lakers relaxed after taking a 15 point lead, and gave the Grizzlies confidence in actually winning the game. I realize the Grizzlies were without Miller and Atkins, but they have a lot of players who can put the ball in the basket.

The Lakers offense failed once the Grizzlies switched to a zone defense, and they started bombing from outside instead of attacking the middle of the zone. Sasha alone shot 8 three pointers, it's uncalled for. The Lakers as a team shot 35 times from behind the arc.

The teams the Lakers consistently lose against are the ones who play zone defense and can execute the high pick and roll. What's ironic is the Triangle offense is supposed to destroy a zone defense because of ball movement, but when the Lakers aren't disciplined enough to attack the middle and worry too, much about the officiating they are going to fail everytime offensively against the zone.

The Grizzlies have had our number the last few seasons, I think a big part of it is not being able to guard Gasol, and rotating off the wrong people to double team him. The Lakers really missed Kwame Brown last night to knock Gasol around and fill the lane defensively.

    Sick and tired of it.

    How bout Kobe's 7/26?E.

    7 for 26

Of course, Smush has a rather solid night, people just loooove blaming the loss on him because he missed the last shot, then Kobe gets blocked, yet Smush will get all the blame. He made 1 less basket than Kobe on ELEVEN less shots.

We all praise Kobe when he's scoring 65, but when he goes 7/26, no one says crap.

Someone find me a game where Jordan shot 7/26 and I'll shut up.</div>

You obviously haven’t watched many Jordan games, that or you have a short memory ... he had a ton of bad shooting nights, but he is a perimeter player, so that happens, even to the GOAT. I once saw MJ go 3/17 in a game … I saw countless 7/28’s … it happens …

Now onto Smush, he was dumb for not fouling at the end. That shows a lack of effort and giving up on the game …

I think he just searched all the games in which Jordan shot 26 times, to compare with Kobe's 26 shots night.

Hell No, Kobe is not kind of person who gets tired and gives up on his team. He had an off game, i can almost guarntee a huge game from kobe against Houston and i hope for a Laker win.[IMG]

I searched for Jordan's highest FGA in a game, and then narrowed it down to 26...not that hard [IMG]

There are no positives in a loss like this...
