<div class="quote_poster">Quoting Ace2k2:</div><div class="quote_post">You live in Philly but you like The pistons does that mean your a bandwagon loser?

Anyway I followed Shaqs career since he was drafted by Orlando. So I will like the Heat a lot now. Of course the Sixers will always be my favorite team. I like the Heat before too though when Dwayne Wade came. Hes a exciting player to watch. AI and Shaq are two players I followed since they were drafted.( I plan of followning LeBron too) Ai mainly cuz he was drafted by the Sixers. I was a small Miami fan before like I watched a few of their games and their play off games. I remember that game against Dallas. That was great. I will probably get Shaqs jersey too. I had Dwaynes for like 2 months now.
I guess I can be considered a bandwagoner. So What?</div>

Yeah but I liked the Pistons since early 90's and in 97' I got a pistons - trojan horse/ball logo tattoo so that even proves I'm not a bandwagoner.

Wow, way to stereotype there buddy. I will say this. I'm a Lakers fan, I still will like Shaq, but, I have no intentions on jumping on the Heat bandwagon just because of him.

<div class="quote_poster">Quoting rphinney1:</div><div class="quote_post">Whats wrong with being loyal to certain players? The Heat will not be my favorite team but I will certainly pull for them, especially against the lakers who if you are a true lakers fan will have you holding a grudge.</div>

Exactly. Shaquille O'Neal has been my favorite player since he came into the league. Guess what I loved the Magic. But once Shaq left there was no reason for me to be excited when I watched them play. I tried to keep saying that Shaq was my fav player and that the magic were still my team. I changed my mind about that before the season even started in 96-97 cuz I knew that I would be entertained watching Magic games anymore. Same with LA and my reasoning for liking the Heat. If I am not gonna be excited about watching a teams game anymore then they are not my fav team.

I love Shaq. He will always be my all-time fav player. So if that makes me a bandwaggoner so be it.

who cares if ppl like the heat, doesnt mean their bandwagoners, miami is a different team now. Dwayne Wade is a team player-likeable, and his game is all-star. There has been Shaq loyalists since Orlando '92; so why can't there be tons of Heat fans next year. I think it's good for basketball, less laker fans

    Haha I hate bandwagoners too
I've been a faithful fan ever since Glen Rice era and even when they sucked ass past few years, I've been a big subscriber with NBA TV. OH well now my wait is over, finally something good is about to happen.
I'm proud to be a Heat fan heh

It's too bad that I won't be able to like the Heat as much since I hate Shaq. But, I still got mad love for Wade.

yep i'm on thw bandwaggon come on heat.

I cant wait to see shaq just purely dominating in the east.

but then again there is that team called the pistons that will probally give him trouble.

I'm truly excited that shaq is in the east now not only because hes on the heat but because without him on the east i think the east in the allstar game would get murdered on film.

Of course I'll always be a fan of my hometeam, but other than that I'm a fan of players and playing styles, not franchises. There's nothing wrong for rooting for Shaq and the Heat's success even if you haven't been following the Heat for years before. I was rooting for the Wizards' success when MJ unretired, and same with the Lakers when Magic unretired (except, of course, when they played the Rockets). That's being a fan of great basketball players, not a "bandwagoner."

So you were his fan when he was in gr10, so people that find out about him later can't be fans because they didn't know?
About Livingston I knew of him already because of All-Star games, but I'm just wondering, not everyone lives in Lebron's area or hears about him, so if someone became a Lebron fan from watching him on ESPN when he was n high school, they're automatically a bandwagon fan of his?
    Just don't understand your logic????

I'd see Bandwagon (for rookies) more as when you support a player after accomplishents. Like Wade I liked him since college because I saw his games on TV and his game resembled mine, but their are people that started liking him midway through the season after he started doing good. I even remember I picked him decently high in my fantasy league and people laughed at me, and then he was averaging 16 and suddenly they liked him, I'd call that bandwagonning on a rookie.
Like the Bobcats, those people that we fans before even the expansion draft can't be called bandwagonners, their's nothing to bandwagon onto :P

I keep thinking that ppl are gonna hate Miami because of Shaq and the fact that they lost Odom and Butler. Oh and Skip being gone I'm thinking that some ppl might be jumping off the bandwagon. Then again they still have Wade and Jones and despite all the ppl who hate Shaq. There still a great deal of ppl who I guess love him or only know him and Kobe. Despite Wade explosion. I still don't really like the Heat. Don't know what it is about this team. I like Wade and Jones, that's about it.

i live right outside of DC which is still almost 450 miles away from cleveland. people who find out about the players once their on nation TV are bandwagoners considering the fact they just wait for a player to become big and then start liking him.

So CavsFan23 how do you not become a bandwagon fan? I knew Amare since his last year in high school, and became of fan of him since then, so does that make me a bandwagon fan because people might of known him before me? And I knew LeBron since 10th grade, knowing him from magazines like Slam, and started liking him the, does that make me a bandwagon fan? Marquis Daniels became one of my fav players this year, even though I didn't like him much in Auburn, does that also make me a bandwagon fan? Just because players don't follow or know people from their College or High school days, doesn't make them a bandwagon fan. Case and point with people with Livingston. Many never heard of him, but when they start hearing him being the next Kidd, they start rooting for him and the Clippers. So they eventually become a fan of the team and player, not a bandwagon fan.
