<div class="quote_poster">Quoting CavsFan23:</div><div class="quote_post">i live right outside of DC which is still almost 450 miles away from cleveland. people who find out about the players once their on nation TV are bandwagoners considering the fact they just wait for a player to become big and then start liking him.</div>
I was just wondering your logic, I get magazines and follow the draft a long time before most people do, so I know about these players, but I wouldn't label anyone who starts liking a guy later a bandwagon fan because if you don't hear of someone you can't be a fan, it's not possible.
Look at someone like Flip Murray, no one can likely say they were a fan of his before his 20 PPG explosion last year or Marquis Daniels, everyone thought they were scrubs.
Or Michael Redd, I liked him from Ohio State when they went to the final four, but I never thought he'd do anything in the NBA.

I'd understand if it was someone doesn't like Lebron, then when he starts averaging 20 PPG in the season they suddenly become a fan, that's bandwagonning. [IMG]

As much as they get on my nerves, bandwagon fans(new ones anyways/not the guys that switch teams year after year from winner to winner) are good for the league. Brings in more revenue..exposes the game to people who normally aren't hoops fans and more than likely a percentage of them will stick around thus increasing the fan base of the NBA.

Hey Im a die-hard Laker fan, but Im gonna root for "The Diesel" in Miami. Doesnt make me a bandwagon fan at all. The guy put in 8 years of work in LA. Im a huge fan of Shaq.

Im gonna root for the Big Fella all the time except during the two games the Lakers meet the Heat in the regular season. Sorry Shaq. I love ya, but not enough to root for you over my Laker team.

Hmm....Actualy T-Mac doesn't get paid much for a superstar. He gets paid just like other stars do. I don't think Orland spends all the money on T-mac when they give same salary to Grant Hill
It certainly is a lot of money tho.

The biggest bandwagoner fans by far are the Cavs fans and now the Heat fans that will come out in droves at this forum once the regular season tips off in early November. Before LeBron James, did anyone ever hear of the Cavs? Did anybody tend to watch their games on TV with their Cleveland affiliate? Heck, did they even purchase tickets to the half-empty Gund Arena before LeBron's arrival? So referring to CavsFan23's quote, don't look at Laker fans being Heat fans or Magic fans being Rocket fans, because I'm sure you had no intention watching the Cav franchise as it laid in the gutter for years. And all this hoopla about Laker fans becoming Heat fans? Unbelieveable. Shaq now plays for the Miami Heat, and as far as I'm concerned, he's public enemy number one. Sure, he did some wonderful things in his eight year stay with my Lakers, but if you can't leave quietly on your own terms and soak in the rebirth of your new team, we have problems.

Actually I lost all respect for Miami after this deal. I enjoyed watching them play last year, they were a bunch of scrappers. It was exciting basketball.

My loyalties are to my hometeam & that team only. How many times have you had someone tell you their favorite teams are the Lakers, Cowboys, & Yankees? How does that happen? Whatever happened to hometown pride?

I'm a bit disappointed too cuz I started to like Odom and they shipped him. But what's done is done so all we, the Heat fans, can do is stop complaining worrying and trust Pat Riley on this.
