I don't believe in pushing, per se, but if various laws are voted in? then, yeah, they are voted in. Last I checked, it takes a majority to do that. Just like gay marriage. There are many who oppose that, but it's legal, and they have those rights. Although, I've oft wondered how it's determined who's the husband, and who's the wife....and can those roles be changed at any time within that said marriage. But, I digress.

So you don't care about the constitution?

1st Amendment
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The majority of Americans don't oppose Abortion so why should there be a law against it?

I don't feel like you are... :dunno: But I'm one who likes religious debate.

They did in Texas though. They're trying to do it all over the country.

Just so you know, my friend, my father was a minister. I was "raised" in a predominantly Black Conservative Baptist church in North Portland (Berean Baptist Church). I left the church.....and God when I was 13. I didn't buy-in to the whole "God thing" until the Holy Spirit gripped me in the kitchen of my Aurora, OR home when I was 32. Many miracles happened to me to ever deny God's existence in my life. They still do. People can believe what they want, but no one, NOBODY, can take my testimony from me.

Is there?

They just made one in Texas and that's going to set off a chain reaction of the same law being set in other states so yeah

Oh, yeah. That deal. The whole Supreme Court thing as kind of a conundrum for me in that they are appointed. They still have to be confirmed, though. That said, I'd rather these issues stay out of the courts.

Sure. But you are trying to impose your beliefs on every woman in America. I couldn't care less what you personally believe. I care what laws you are shoving down my uterus.

I don't make law, Ma'am.

But, you're OK with them being made even if they step on other people's beliefs

No one is attempting to do this. You can testify to whatever you want. My issue is when conservatives push this onto us.
They pass laws based upon their "morals" and think everyone should live by them.

I can't speak for @crandc as to why she feels you press your beliefs.

But do you vote for "Pro-Life" candidates? Because if you do, then you are voting for people who want to control women's bodies.

No law is 100% agreeable.

The Texas law says:

Hey, I can protect you from wearing a mask in public....

But if your uncle rapes your 14 year old daughter and gets her pregnant... Well, she's on her own...

As far as I I know, the laws would have to be passed in some type of Supreme Court system. I shared my views on that. I'd prefer that the courts stay out of these types of issues and let them be determined at the ballot boxes.

I'd be against that.

This.

No one is trying to take away ABMs religion or persecute him for it. The issue is conservative politicians( most of who share his religion) trying to push it on others via laws based on that religion.

That is not OK.

Believe what you want. Practice whatever religion you want. That is beauty of this country. The freedom that comes with being a citizen of it. Shit, there is a church of Satan.

Don't step on other people's freedom to suit your own.

If these laws are voted in.....despite what they are (Conservative OR Liberal), then I'm 100% for that - despite, if I don't agree with them (see: gay marriage). Conversely, if the laws are mandated by court systems, etc., I'm not necessarily in favor of, or agreement with, that. However, courts do rule on the spectrum of issues when there are impasses, so I guess I do understand their need. Doesn't mean I have to agree with them in the end, though.

But, allowing gay marriage doesn't hurt anyone. It doesn't infringe on yours or any other conservatives rights. It actually helps some people.

Making laws against abortion are injurious the rights of millions of women.

They didn't! Texas did!

You have seen School House Rock I know...

The Supreme Court just decided not to do anything about it.

They kicked the can down the road. Trump's presence is still being felt... 3 fucking picks...

Merrick Garland should be a judge but the Democrats are FUCKING SPINELESS...
