Did I say it right? If not, my apology. All I'm sayin' there is, I wouldn't retire one blazer from the jail blazer era. That includes Pippen. Therefore, I feel we can afford to retire the heart and soul of the blazer team of the early ninties.
Nope you said it right. I misunderstood. I get what you're saying though. If you retire Kersey I think Duck needs to be retired as well, he was a two-time all star after all. Then you have 4/5 of the starting five for teams that never won a championship.
Naw. I personally wouldn't retire Duck. He was good. But Jerome Kersey was top three on that team. And the reason why I'm interested in retiring Jerome has more due to the effort he put forth on the floor. No one hustled like he did. I don't know If I can recall one nba player since Kersey that worked as hard as he did on the court. Maybe ever. Or atleast since I have been watching. Like I said in a previous post. He played the game the right way. If any player did, he did. I feel he should be honored for that. Especially if you are willing to honor players like Johnny Davis, Dave Twardzik etc. They might have won a title. But I don't know they ever brought the effort and heart Jerome did. Jerome was ever bit as good as those two if not better. I do get what you are saying though on winning championships. That's why I think you retire him and then raise your standard on what it takes to retire a number.
Why the FUCK can't we hire someone that played for Portland? These Seattle connections are really pissing me off. Are they really saying there isn't one single former Blazer that could do that job?
I think this organization has been entirely too liberal about retiring numbers. It's almost like they retire numbers out of nostalgia and not actual accomplishments. I loved Terry Porter when he was on our team, but the guy wasn't good enough to have his number retired. I'm surprised we haven't retired the number of every single player that was on the championship team. HOFers is really where I draw the line. Was the guy amazing? Yes? Okay, retire his number. Jordan's, Drexlers, Pippens, Magics, Stocktons... etc etc etc.

Who cares where the names come from. We are finally starting to get some good ones!!! Juwan Howard, Andre Miller, Hersey Hawkins. We need to bring in some more NBA elite! Staff, coaches or players! Aren't we also bringing in Terry Porter for something?
