You are the perfect definition of monday morning qb. So easy to second guess and rip well after the fact.

You DIDNT HAVE THIS OPINION AT THE TIME OF THE DEALS. MEL

Yeah lets not win another cup and just talk about the farm for another 15 years.

Al, who cares. Its time to move on now and get ready for next season. I'm not ripping anyone but to keep rehashing who said what and their a ninny nanny for saying it is tiresome. I've been wrong as much as anyone but you believe in something or someone until they show you you shouldn't anymore. I'm more interested now in who we pick up as free agent or in trades for next season so we can make another run for the cup.

You've actually gotten to the point Al where you discount 1st round picks and are supporting the trade of a guy in Vermette who was so bad he was benched multiple times in the playoffs. Not to mention he's not even averaging 14 minutes a game in the playoffs. Gimme a break.

Ripping on the Hawks for trading a first while they're about to win the cup is just nonsensical. The goal is to win the cup. The goal is not to have the strongest farm system.

and even if they end up losing the cup, you still give kudos for the gm for doing what ever it took to bring the cup back to your city. THAT WAS THE MAIN POINT in my comment.

Vermette has scored some pretty big goals... G4 against the Ducks, g1, G5.... Exactly what you hope for out of a rental

So what you're saying dump is, they benched a guy that was underperforming which has motivated him to make some big plays and he has helped his team with some timely goals. But they gave up a first rounder so in 5 years they may not be good, but they might win a Cup tonight. Hmmmm....I'll give up what MIGHT be a low first rounder who may or may not be a bust in 5 years for a Cup. Call me crazy, but I thought the goal every year is to win the Cup and position yourself to make a run now, not hope in 5 years that all the picks you had pan out and if not keep drafting and hoping you get lucky with mid level to late first round draft picks since that's all this team gets.

Ok, thanks for clarifying. We're good Al as I try to stay out of the battles and just post regarding the team and read others doing the same.
