You know another idea I was thinking is maybe you could let a wild card advance from the first round and compete against the person instead of giving him a bye week. For example both azn_iverson/Air Freshner did good so the loser could be a wild card and face the strongest person from round one (MrJ?).
Yo Brian, just make sure that you don't let any of us participants vote who gets the bye. EDIT: My idea shouldn't be the only one out there. It's kind of a last resort. Anybody else got any ideas?
Despite the confusion, it's been fun so far. I can't wait for the second round. Brian, instead of giving someone a pass for the second round, why not get an interested person who forgot to sign up. It's kind of unfair they advance without winning round one, but everyone will be interested to see the best person perform in the second round.
^^ Well I'm not sure about letting someone advancing without even doin the first round. I think the wild card idea is better.
That's not fair MrJ. A random guy skips a possible elimination in Round One just because he forgot to sign up?

I'd rather have someone taking a bye than setting up a wild card, but we'll see. What do you guys think? Edit - (to MrJ's idea) I dont really think that would be fair. Like Swish said, it wouldnt sit well with the members that competed hard in round 1 to see someone just automatically make it into round 2 without even doing a thing
Just wondering, do any of y'all need anymore judges. Seeing as how I MC once in a while at clubs, not to mention a lot of time on my hands i wouldn't mind being a judge along with others cats up in this board.
The other problem is the vcwannabe15/Voodoo Child battle. Do we keep waiting for Voodoo? Should we just grab someone who couldn't register on time and give him a quick battle against vcwannabe? ----------------------- IMO, if you want to do the Wild Card idea, you have to make it a little more organized. Here are a couple ideas: 1. Create a thread where posters rank the rappers who were eliminated. The top ranked rapper (average it out) gets to stay in the competition. 2. Or you can do that same ranking idea and the top two ranked rappers submit one verse each. Winner of that (take a vote) advances. I don't think the wild card rapper should be pitted against the best rapper though. It's unfairly punishing the top poster, who has to face a pretty tough battler. Just include him as if he had advanced and Brian can set up the matches however he normally would have. ----------------------- It's been pretty hectic and a little rushed, but I agree with MrJ. It's been an enjoyable competition so far. If we do it again, eventually, it'll only be better.

Having three judges is a stupid idea. If you're worried about people in the battles voting on the other ones, then just don't count their votes.

Then you can create the matchups normally, as if he had actually passed through. I personally prefer it this way. It may take a little longer, but I think it doesn't make it unfair for anyone in particular. Also, unlike the 2nd round bye idea, it doesn't let someone sit back for a couple days writing killer raps and then unleashing it for an easy ride to the finals. Also, I don't like the idea of 3 judges either. I thought the voting was pretty good this time. Except for a couple odd posters, everyone explained themselves pretty well when voting and its not like we have some ridiculous outcomes. If you want to organize it a little more, just create a seperate thread for each match, where everyone puts in their vote after the battle is over. Either way, I thought the 1st round went through pretty decently.
If we do the WildCard thing, it'll come down to vcwannabe and Umair, for sure. For real though, I like the wild card idea. The bye isn't bad as well, but MrJ's won't work out IMO.
Alright so I guess wildcard it is. This process shouldn't take long. We should battling soon, right? I want to go back to the lab. Maybe actually have some competition this time. No offense, Umair.
^^^ we're doin a wild card because, theres only 7 competitors goin to the next round leaving 1 with no one to battle.. ppl are voting for the 2 best fstylers who lost so they can battle eachother to be a wildcard..
