That's cool. I did check the pans out. I went with covering the outside house parameter and yard, so I don't think the pan would be as useful for my situation. The little motion sensor is great. I have a blind spot (need one more camera), where someone could jump the neighbors fence, and break into an unused basement room. I put the sensor in that room, so if it does happen; I can go down and give them a friendly welcome....
A little warning for anyone thinking about this.... In about 9 days, with 3 cams; I have used 9.5G of data with the Wyze app. I have played around with them a bunch, but still- if you are going to be doing a lot of watching using your cel service, make sure you have a good data plan. Lol
About twice a day I clear all my memory related to my one camera which way way way too sensitive. I once caught a squirrel running across my driveway and another time I caught a black bird hopping around on my driveway. I live across the street from the football field of a high school. It's so sensitive that I can see people moving around in the bleachers on the far side of the field. People driving in either direction appear on my camera. People walking up and down our street appear on our camera. I must delete around 100 pictures a day. It's getting to be one hell of a nuisance.
I wanted to catch the mailman when he pulled over to our mailbox. Most cars on our street drive down the middle. Very seldom do two cars traveling opposite directions cross paths on our street. Yeah, not a lot of traffic on our street. Every time I mention my woes to my brother-in-law who installed the damn thing, he makes an adjustment, about three adjustments so far. Now, I've got to invite him over for dinner again so he can adjust it a fourth time? Dinner for him and my wife's sister means a lot of extra work for her and she's tired enough just taking care of me. My sister-in-law has Alzheimer's and invites us over for dinner constantly but she couldn't boil a pan of water if you put it on the stove for her so we make a polite excuse not to come over there and she conveniently, for us, forgets the excuse which we then can make over and over. Still gonna catch the squirrel or black bird 'cause they are right there on the driveway. Side note: Our garage door opener just crapped out yesterday so I bought a new top of the line one, a Chamberlain 3/4 hp to replace our Liftmaster 1/2 hp motor that was 26 years old. Still gotta figure out all the bells and whistles.
