Wait, what about straight people that can't have kids? They aren't supposed to be that way either? They were punished for some reason?</div>

You're entirely missing the point. The normal way for a couple to have kids is the man fertilizing the woman's egg and she gets pregnant and has a baby. A woman can't get another woman pregnant therefore, lesbian couples can't have children because a man must play a role in the whole process. I would think if same sex couples were okay with God then He would allow them to be able to have kids together.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">And let me point out here that lesbian couples can have kids the same way a straight couple where the man is sterile can, via artificial insemination.</div>

Key word being artificial. It's not natural. Lesbian couples can't have kids the natural way. It's not even the non-pregnant woman's kid.

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">I'd think that if God didn't want anyone to have babies unless it was via intercourse, He would have made in-vitro insemination impossible.</div>

There's a lotta things that God allows to happen in this world. God doesn't like murder or adultery, but it still happens. Why He lets it happen nobody knows and probably no one ever will.

I think that religion has played a big part in these debates. Well sometimes beliefs get out of hand as well. People sometimes forget the message and dwell to deep in their beliefs it kind of clouds what is right and what is wrong. People should be allowed to be happy with whomever they want. That's the plain fact. That's the way God wanted it.

Just because a couple is gay doesn't mean that people have the power to deny them of the right to have children. A lot of the arguements brought up in this debate were about "How God doesn't want this" and "God doesn't want that to happen". You can't really push your religious beliefs onto others and expect them to accept it as if it's the truth.

All of these regualtions against gay marriage and gay pregnancy are really founded on Religion rather than the morality of the situation. I don't know about you guys but I thought it was a free country.

I belive that homosexuality is like the racism of today, and many people are having trouble accepting it.
If your playing basketball with a gay person, there not going to try and like touch you, or feel you, or play any different than a straight guy would. They probably wouldnt do much talking either so they wouldnt be acting over-feminine or anything.
just my thoughts, is there anyone gay in this board, maybe they can comment.</div>
I don't know if I agree with that... if i happen to play a girl i find attractive at basketball, i'm going to be taking every opportunity to get a few grabs in. Just the possibility of a gay man liking all the contact in a game is enough to freak some people out.

As I'm saying you are referring to the bible, which in turn says that religious beliefs play a huge part in ones opinion. It should be more of a question about the people rather religion. If you want to deny Gays and Lesbians the right to marriage and having children you are basically saying that Gay's and Lesbians are lesser people than us and don't deserve the same rights.

    HA thats great.

I guess I really don't how GOD relates to this topic 'Homosexuals in the NBA.' It was brought off topic - but in the end I still believe people are just too homophobic to accept gays in today's society let alone the NBA.

I remember a while back people didn't even accept others dating outside of their race. Whenever a black/white person dated it was considered terrible and god wouldn't accept them. Now this is almost the same situation - except it's with the same race. But what I want to know is, wouldn't god accept you no matter what? And if he didn't, how would he even know?

If we can allow Same-sex marriage in certian states like Massachusetts then why can't we allow polygamy and incestous marriage. Are we not denying the rights to those people?

Personally, I don't care who in the NBA is gay, but I would if it was one of my favorite players. Thanks God Kobe is married. HAHA. But I don't really accept "gay" people. I mean, God made you a man or woman for a reason and that is to reproduce, I don't see any men having babies so obviously this is against all of the Holy Laws (I'm Christian and I'm not trying to offend anyone). I'm not homophobic, but I wouldn't be caught talking to a gay either. I mean... God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve! I just can't accept how men can pull a 180 and like other men. That is just sick to me. Once agian, I'm not trying to offend Anyone, but that's just the way I feel about this. Rudeezy, are you religious? Earlier you said something about your beliefs? Well, that's my two cents.

Looks like I'm late to this debate so I'll just keep my opinions brief.

I believe that marriage is the joint union between a man and a woman, and it should stay that way. Marriage leads to children, and I definitely don't think children should be raised by homosexual couples. Without getting into religion, we have to realize that it's against "nature." Every child deserves the opportunity to have a mother and father (granted it doesn't always work out this way).

But it is very dangerous to tamper with nature. The Human race has gone millions (?) of years with heterosexual parenting. Biologically, concieving is exclusive only to heterosexuals. I believe it's the same deal psychologically. The children who grow up with homosexual parents will not grow up "normal," at least in a psychological sense. I feel there is going to be a lot of confusion growing up for those children, whcih can create problems for themselves as well as society when they become adults...

    All men are created equal.

If a guy wants to tap another guy, let him.

If a chick wants to licky lick, let her. I don't like it, but it's life.

And if God doesn't accept you as gay, then thats sad. How do we even know god wouldn't approve of this? Isn't the dude dead?

It may be written in the bible, but that shouldn't be the determination of whether you approve of two people in love or not. I'm sticking by my first sentence in that 'All men are created equal.'

I could care less about gays hooking up, as long as they stay in their little closet.

But gay marriage....uh..thats hella nasty. I always thought of weddings with a pretty white dress and a tux. What would the other female/male wear? Two dresses? EW.

    And gays adopting..?

Theres two ways of looking at that -
    1) The gay parents might be better than straight parents were to the child (Non abusive, more loving, etc.)

    Or

    2) Would the kid date the same sex because thats the way they were raised?
