It really going depends on the management and coaches think where Simons and Trent is in there development this off season.
Yeah, instead of thinking about which one we want to keep it might just come down to which one of the three would even be willing to sign for that amount. It's possible it's not enough to sign any of them and all these discussions are for naught. I know the difference between $4.1 million and $5.3 million is significant but if we could just talk Hood into staying for the $4.1 million and then either Kanter or Curry stays for the Tax-MLE, I think that would be a great summer. With the Nurk injury I agree that if both Curry and Kanter were willing to sign for the Tax-MLE I'd pick Kanter.
I feel like our odds are better retaining Hood and Kanter, both seem ok with coming off the bench eventually. IMO Curry wants to start somewhere.
Simons isn't ready to play NBA defense like Curry but I don't think he's far away offensively. I'm betting Trent will surprise in a year or two.
It's a shame he isn't a big man. "Mt. Hood" would be an awesome nickname for a shot blocking enforcer. Maybe we could work him into that role in a small ball lineup?
