it's been 2.5 months since his surgery, so it doesn't seem surprising he can shoot a basketball at this point in time. Last I heard, he was "hopeful" to start practicing in March. He is scheduled was for a re-evaluation in March...might happen a little earlier, but there isn't much clarity on that.
I think they just said a week or two ago that he was actually going to be practicing around the All-Star break and would be back in March if all goes well. There was even some hint of optimism that he might be ahead of schedule. I doubt that means they'd let him play sooner than the 4 months though.
Gotta love the NBA H&P teams and the level of care they get. When I dislocated my shoulder, I could barely lift my arm for 6 months without pain. Maybe I shoulda opted for surgery.
