There are a total of 7 posters on this board all in on bashing the coach. Those posters post about 40% of the comments of the entire forum. Some of them are even willing to sit up all night and do nothing but bash a head coach that has produced more with less than pretty much any coach has in the history of the league.
It's fine as that is their prerogative to do so but don't think because every comment you make gets the same like from the same few people that you are correct. Most people knowledgeable about the game know what Stotts has accomplished and that he will continue for the next year building a winner and a winning culture here in Portland.

Multiple reports have said that Paul wanted to fire Stotts last summer. It's Neil and Dame that convinced him not to.

It took us 20 yrs to get to this position and we're pissing it away. Might take us another 20 to come back here.

Most people knowledgeable? Players on both sides, the media, former coaches, and writers around the country all were stunned at Stotts' coaching strategy in Game 1. Then again, those people may also be away of his abysmal playoff coaching record that was padded this season by Anfernee Simons disregarding a game plan to lose and keeping them away from the Warriors in Round 2.

If KD leaves, next season we're good as anyone in the West. Okay, Warriors are gonna be probably better, but not like all these years.

Turner and Leonard contracts are killing us. If we had Kanter, Curry and Hood of the bench next year, imagine, best bench in the league. Fuck Neil and all media that gives props to him.

No, thats not why I think I'm correct. I'm correct because Im right. Theres a difference.

And no one's going to listen to anyone who will never criticize Stotts, or think he's flawless.

Nobody is sitting on this forum all night. Seems like youre doing what you do best, which is to make up some random insult to pin to someone because you cant stand anyone speaking poorly of your precious coach.

Pst, by the way, its more than 7.

Tim Legler did a great piece on the Blazers strategy in Game 1. He is a tremendous analyst and does a great job of being objective.

CJ wouldn't even answer Dwight Jaynes when asked how he would like to play against a defense that guarded Steph/Klay in Game 1. He just laughed and said, 'you know I can't answer that."

So unless 'Legs' and CJ are posters here and I'm guessing they are not, those were just 2 of the myriads of people who had issues with Stotts. Chad Doing who does the post game show is one of Stotts biggest defenders and flat out called it horrible. The examples go on and on and most likely, people know that and are just trying to be provocative.

I’m not sure why Meyers played over Kanter in the 4th other than spacing reasons. Stotts can’t seriously believe that Kanter would do a worse job of trapping than Meyers right? If Kanter was out there, guaranteed we would have got more looks on the offensive glass.

Okay Mr. 35,000 comments backed up by Mr 13,000 comments. Pretty sure Mr 32,000 comments will be along shortly as will Mr nearly 70,000 comments with an honorable mention to Mr. 9,000 comments.
That's 5 and yes there are a couple more. More than 7 you say? 8? 9? Would you like to make my point and slam it home any harder?
Hope you have a nice day.

Go Blazers! Get game three and shut these dudes up for a while.

No one would like more than to get Game 3 (and 4,5 and 6) than some of those you seem to have an issue with. Not even sure what the point of that is....but as you said, have a nice day.

If there are multiple reports then can you bring up multiple links supporting that assertion.

I honestly don't believe Meyers did a bad job last night. Every time I rewound plays and watched it seemed to me the backside of the defense behind Meyers gave him 0 help whatsoever, it was sloppy rotations. Probably because they aren't really used to playing the style of defense they did last night, but they're also worried about the lobs.

I agree, I didn’t say Meyers did anything wrong on the help defense. I just thought Kanter would have done the same and given us more on the glass

I "like" Stotts for the most part off the court. I haven't really liked his defensive schemes, but I'll give him credit that I think this post-season he's at least tried new things even if it hasn't been done "in-game" as I'd like. He has been more flexible this post-season than any other post-season. Last summer, I thought he deserved to be fired, but he's here. I think he's done ok, I hear people say oh he's just bailed out by Dame and CJ and I think well part of a coaches job is to enable his best players to bail him out. No Coach wins games without great players basketball is about your stars. I think this post-season run has earned Stotts and NO another year at least.

I have critiques of Stotts, but if we wanted to we could critique every scheme and every coach if there was a perfect scheme everyone would run it.

I think familiarity breeds contempt and in a sport when you've seen the same schemes and haven't won a championship it gets old for fans. My biggest argument for moving Stotts is just to see what another coach could do, we could move on from Stotts and get much worse like Memphis did a few years ago when they moved coaches, or we could be like GS move coaches and get a lot better, or we could stay about the same, who knows. I was happy to see that they tried to guard them differently last night, at least there's that.

I know this is directed at bones, but I post at all hours of the night too and this frustrates me. I struggle with insomnia (have since I was a kid) and have kids, and have a career, and work out, and yeah I also spend probably too much time on here too! You have no idea how difficult it is for me to turn my brain off and go to sleep, and the whole oh you must be living with your mom and have no job thing is frustrating... Lots of people have different schedules or issues...
