We also shot terribly from 3 though, did we not?

Anyways my point is always that coaches get too much blame and praise. Stotts did what he could today and it helped.

How many predicted we'd go in a hole early with Aminu and Harkless in the starting lineup? Probably everyone. Stotts is fantastic getting the most out of his players (that he decides to play); his big problem is ridiculous-level stubbornness with his starting lineup. How can Stotts not acknowledge that? Certainly Nurkic and McCollum should be much harder to replace than Harkless or Aminu, yet the Blazers kept winning when those 2 key pieces couldn't play at all.

Game is four quarters long. We won the game and the series.

He doesn't need to, we're resigning him.

Quit trying to be what you aren't, the coach of the Blazers. The players that came in for Aminu and Harkless didn't do any better. When Stotts made the subs we were down by 7. We ended the quarter down by 12 and soon found ourselves down by 17 without Harkless and Aminu in the game. They aren't responsible for the team shooting horribly in the first half.

all you have to do is go to ESPN and look at the shot chart and do it by quarter for whatever individual you want. You also seem to be forgetting that Turner guarded Milsap for periods of time. Give him some props as well.

Stotts deserve praise for what this team accomplished this year. You bring up all of Denver's misses from 3. Well we missed tons of shots from 3 as well so what if we would have made a few of those. Do we get the same consideration that you are giving Denver?

Why would we stop doggin him when we have apparently done such a good job of helping him up his game? :)

Terry has his strengths and his weaknesses like most coaches. Other than Jack Ramsey, I have never been totally happy with our head coach.
There are a few coaches out there right now who I would rather have, but not many.

Sometimes, it takes time to turn around the mess the subs inherited. Momentum can be hard to change. That's why it's ludicrous to keep spotting the opponent an early lead and expecting to be able to erase it every time.

Hood subbed for Harkless (due to injury), Blazers win 4OT

Turner subbed for Hood (due to injury), Blazers win series

Props to Terry for knowing when to make changes :)

Sure but he adjusted, and we won because of his adjustments. Everyone makes mistakes but what do you do AFTER the mistake happens?

And you have to have consistent scoring in the 2nd unit. Not sure how either Aminu or Hark would have provided that.

    And answer this:

What were your immediate thoughts when Turner entered the game?

    Meh.

He still chose who to put in. Some folks were clamoring for Jake Layman to get time.

Players need to have some kind of stability and there is variance between games. Dame was shooting great in game 6 but not so much in game 7 - Terry does fine with creating a stable environment and allowing players to play - once he has a better read on the specific game - he adjusted properly. It is not a surprise this team believe in each other and the coaches - and Terry's decision not to overreact and let each game unfold is a big part of it.

I had the same thought last night. For all of the talk of his improved 3pt shooting in the regular season, we're seeing who he is in the playoffs -- a bad shooter with limited decision making abilities.

Did you just disagree with yourself in 3 sentences? That's impressive.

I made the comparison of Zach to a bigger Artest when he was drafted -- he's not going to be the guy who necessarily always fills up the stat sheet -- his impact will be felt in the little things, the pressure and toughness he brings, etc. He did all of those things in the first half as well, just got the rough end of a few BS calls...
