I don't think it helps any team either...just not seeing it making that big of an impact on the season for either of these teams... If Baron is next, I think it's time L.A. made a run at him...him or P.J. Brown.
Congratulations to all the Hornets fans. You just got an incredible player with Jim Jackson, and a player who under-achieved in our system in Houston but should excel in N.O. I'm disgusted as a Rockets fan, but y'all have just gotten at least one player who should do some incredible help for your team.

You get a good guy form the 3 point line, and anyone is better than Ward
Jim Jackson has to be the best journey man in NBA history. The guy has played for probably 7 teams and still continues to contribute...congrats to NO, not that they are going to start winning anytime soon.
Apart from salary implications, this trade really doesn't make any sense for me. Personally I hate to see Wesley go, I would've liked to see him retire as a Hornet. Does this help Houston? Not really. There's nothing that Wesley can do that Jackson couldn't. Besides, Wesley plays SG, is he gonna back up McGrady? Or is he gonna play PG? Does this help New Orleans? Maybe a little bit, but it wouldn't make a substantial difference. I don't know whether Jackson is getting old or if it was the JVG's system, but he seems to have dropped statisically from last year. I think what this does do is allow the young guys on the Hornets to get some PT.
good job NO you guys just solidified the no. 1 pick in the 2005 draft. Anymore pointless trades. Baron Davis for Jon barry. Jamaal magloire for kwame brown. I got one Jim Jackson for Kevin willis. The hornets will surely win the title with a team like this.
