I just got hooked on it bigtime when I was down there eating gulf oysters...the tabasco just enhanced it so much. I think it was the vinegar...just worked.
for many people, saying they like Sriacha is a way to show they are "down" with the asian culture. its been like that way for years.
Taste is not subjective, there are usually consensuses as to flavor profiles, what's good. some people who have tastes outside the normal spectrum are seen as being strange. some people like prime steaks being cooked well done, which is strange to most. That's why people care about what food critics have to say. foods can certainly become overrated or overhyped.
For home made tacos/nachos, use the left, for chipolte wings, the right. On eggs, hashbrowns, pizza, etc.
The cool new thing is salt and pepper. But I curl my lips in distaste because it's just hipsters making a statement about racism.
Franks is best general hot suace, easy to adjust (increase) the heat. If you like hot sauce that tastes all garlic like, use the Siracha, has slightly more heat. The sweet chilli stuff is good but it's mostly syrup in most incarnations.
I actually had a very hipster morning, involving sriacha. all part of the bigger picture. woke up late after a long night of drinking. put on my Portland Beavers retro baseball shirt even though I haven't been to a game since the 80s.....then went down to Venice and got korean taco and a hot dog (used Sriacha on it) from the Kogi Food Truck. I instagramed the meal. http://instagram.com/p/N6tuwkSmmf/ then went to intellegensia coffee. the hipster was strong. after which I went to the african american mall ironically to look at retro Jordans. :MARIS61: only thing missing from my usual routine was the farmers market but i woke up too late for it. then back in my parking garage i conversed with my neighbor about how I'm not watching the Olympics. then I posted about it on a message board. :MARIS61:
not a lot of people like, but I really like the chinese mustard and oil with chili flakes at chinese restaurants, especially with dim sum. I also love to put hot sauce on my mac and cheese.
and i liked sriracha before it was cool, used to call it cock sauce back in 1999 LOVED me some cock sauce in my ketchup for fries but now its so played out, i only eat zero footprint sustainable grown organic ghost chilli extract i barter sex for from a hobo downtown, hes an ghetto soldier on the front lines of the struggle

Just telling it like it is! its no different from hipsters drinking PBR, its the same thing. "oh yeah, i'm sure you really do love the taste". no, its viral marketing that has engorged your psyche. {Poasted via palm pilot}
I had no idea what PBR was when I tried it, but it is undoubtedly better than Keystone Light, Miller High Life and the other beers you can buy at that price. I've never come across anyone saying it's great or that they love the taste. Relative to it's competitors, it's better.
