Well shit I agree with you finally on something. Which is the stuff about the entitled. But that doesn't mean none of these jobs that he's bringing don't help at all. You can't help the entitled, or the seedy fucks who want to crime it up to make money, that starts back in education. But ultimately there are more than just service jobs coming back to the USA. I think any job is better than nothing and certainly better than shipping jobs out to India or Mexico or whatever.

I remember when conservatives used to insist that government doesn't create jobs. Now they think that all private sector jobs are created by the President.

This isn't government creating jobs. Not $.01 is being spent to do any of this, aside from the man's time and travel.

Well Obama fucked the pooch on that Barfo™; He helped create quite a bit of business unfriendly legislation, pushing jobs out of this country. So while conservatives still can insist that Government doesn't create jobs itself, they still understand that Government can influence the land to be either job friendly or unfriendly w/the laws it passes. At least that's how I see it.

Yeah, that Alibaba one pledging to help 1,000,000 small businesses each hire one employee sounds legit. And I'm sure those are skilled high paying jobs packing and shipping trinkets to China.

Under Obama, we had the longest continuous run of job growth in the entire history of the USA.

So, how you see it is perhaps colored by your bias.

Labor force participation is a big thing.

"While 14.4 million jobs were created from February 2010 to March 2016, the number of people who dropped out of the labor force -- either because they retired or just quit looking for work -- shot up an astonishing 10 million"

BTW, my kid sells stuff at trade shows and the like. If she could sell to the Chinese market, it would be pretty sweet.

No, coal becoming obsolete will do that. Unless you really want the Government propping up obsolete industries?

I don't want the government involved at all.

Clinton went to WVa and promised to kill all the coal companies and the workers' jobs. That's brilliant campaigning.

Edit: Clinton said: “We’re going to put a lot of coal miners and coal companies out of business.”

The CEO of Alibaba is all over the Asian media talking about how we blew it ignoring infrastructure and pouring our surplus into military investments over the last several decades...also eluded to the modernization of the new manufacturing sector towards robotics and not manual labor. We should be creating jobs developing robotics for manufacturing like most of the world has been....somethings about the rust belt should probably die out...how about a new energy grid and high speed rail system?

Well the great thing is Alibaba is apparently known as a place to sell knock offs because they don't monitor the goods too closely. So we will be able to buy fake stuff made in China and hire new employees to sell it back to them. They call that synergy in business school.

My goodness, these charts show abismal management. Why would man, heralded as brillant, manage the economy to determent of most of the people?
