...anyone else watching -- bottom of the 11th coming up!!! http://pac-12.com/live/oregon-state-university-2
My mind was scrambled . I thought I was in Corvallis, but I'm down here in Eugene as I type! Hoping Ducks win so there's no game tomorrow.
Oh please no! The idea of you having to take your basketball-obsessed mind and wrap it around the game I love is just too much fun! I hope you have to cut Mike Trout highlights for ESPN one of these days.
Saw they were beating Yale last night. I can get into collegiate baseball more than professional... actually the most baseball I've ever watched has been college softball.
Beavs vs Vanderbilt Best of 3 series 6:00 on Friday - ESPN2 6:00 on Saturday - ESPN 6:00 on Sunday - if necessary - ESPN2 or ESPNU
Vanderbilt is as good of a team as any team we will see in Omaha. Should be a battle. I've watched a ton of Beaver baseball over the years including every game of the back to back championship teams and this years team has impressed me the most. There is no weakness on the roster and the pitching is as good as it gets in college baseball. Pat Casey has built a power house in the north west. I'll be in attendance for the games this weekend and am already planning my trip to Omaha. Go Beavs god damnit.
I am not a Beavs fan but even I can appreciate what Casey has done. He probably single handedly saved interest in the game in Oregon. The back to back championships came are a time that was crucial to the local sport's survival. A player like Jacob Ellsbury on a MLB team insures that a future number 1 like Dave Peterson is playing in the state collegete system. I was really disappointed when we lost the PDX Beavers in their current incarnation. The Padres are partially guilty for sending us absolute crap for a roster.... but the grass roots support was there. It is ironic that the microbrew Timbers snobs laugh at the more established plebian American fare.... I remember when the their players were a bunch of indoor soccer rejects. Look at the Mavericks, you can take the team away but Portland fandom never dies. Man. I love this town!
