The pitching was outstanding this weekend - should've been a 4-game sweep but Munoz couldn't get through the one frame. Still can't hit to save their lives, but hopefully France is back on track.
Munoz was bound to finally get touched up lol. Bullpen has been lights out for so long so I'd rather that happen in late August and still take 3 of 4. If your offense is predicated on a 21 year old phenom and a finally-after-years coming into his own France... Whelp. But it is all about timely hitting. Very happy we have 2 #1s (Castillo and Ray) for the playoffs. Beyond that it's unproven but it's a damn good start.
I know it's been 21 years and you take any playoff spot you can get, plus don't really want to play with fire BUT ... wouldn't it be better to finish as the 3rd WC and get Cleveland, while letting Tor/TB beat each other up? I guess if they could find a way past Clev that would mean Houston waiting in the ALDS and for that round you'd much rather have NYY.
Got tickets to the September 11th Sunday matinae game. Staying up with some friends in Olympia on Saturday, right on the water. BEAT CLEVELAND!!
With wild card games all 3 are at home for the division leader and #1 WC. I really want to be at the #1 WC cause Seattle for 3 games at home... Thinking of the energy with Julio clutch hits and Castillo/ray/Kirby?! Yes please.
It's been fun today! This is what they should have freaking done both games against the nationals. That loss still stings lol
Just trying to think ahead ... I know Mariner fans are like whipped dogs but I don't want to see them just make the playoffs, in the words of the illustrious Jake Taylor "there's only one thing to do, go out and win the whole fuckin thing!" Trust me as a huge Cubs fan making the playoffs is fun, but you know what's better, winning it all!
Although I'm incredibly skeptical and it would take a shit ton of luck, our team is set up to do a random ass run because we have elite pitching and defense. And that is indeed what wins playoff games so who the hell knows.
The team has cojones, that's for sure. If you want a chance you have to make it to the playoffs. A team coming off a big drought like this has nothing to lose, and that's a team you don't wanna face. Especially if their pitching is good. Go M's!!!
You all can hate me and that's fine, but I'm more excited about the Mariners than I am the Trail Blazers, currently. That may change after the first NBA tipoff.
Same. I don't get into watching Blazers until the Mariners season is done (when they get eliminated from playoff contention which last couple years has been the last game of the season).
