Unless they are smart and trade some pieces for the future, they will make the playoffs

What does having young players that can help (other than Batum) have to do with anything?

They have younger and fresher legs. On a compressed schedule like this year, with such an insane number of games that come in clusters, having good young players would be very helpful.

I certainly don't consider Aldridge, Matthews or Felton old.

I have that same feeling. We take care of business on the rest of this trip and go 4-2 on the trip and we come back to the RG for some cake home games. Blazermania hysteria will be back again. Then we'll lose to a .500 team and we should blow it up and have a firesale.

Are they young? "Not old" is not the same as "young".

I said this when we were supposedly the "best in the west" 2 weeks ago and I say it now.

i forgot about smith ... i guess we are 9 deep but i don't consider nolan or elliott to really have an impact this year. i haven't seen anything yet to make me think they will be anywhere close to rotational players this season.

i think we make the playoffs as a 5-7 seed and might make it out of the first round depending on the match up.

Not at all. Prior to the Crawford and Thomas signings, I thought we were lottery bound.

So you mean actually having something to get excited about for the future?

Oh, and had Crawford gone elsewhere this team right now would have a better record

I am fairly confident we will make the playoffs but I also have a feeling that a bunch of trades at the deadline could shake up the whole seedings. And that could be a good thing or a bad things for us. I am slowly but surely learning to expect the unexpected that really should have been expected to begin with this crazy season.
