Second of all, Boris Diaw is 6'8" and 215 pounds and thrives at PF because the Suns use run-and-gun. Shawn Marion is 6'7" and 228 pounds and played PF when the Suns had Amare and no Diaw. You're thinking too simply. They aren't really playing PF. They're playing swing forward. He doesn't have to play half-court set basketball where he has to post up and stuff. All he has to do is run the court, play his zone, and pull the power forward away from the basketball if they set up on offense. All Green has to do is bulk up a little in the weight room and have an offense that would let him run.
Actually I'm a HUGE Celtics fan and Gerald Green is listed at 6-8 but he's even said in a press conference he's 6-6. I'm sorry but Green playing PF is hilarious.

QUOTE (bobferg @ Jul 2 2006, 03:31 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

you have an unhealthy obsession with the celtics. and they are worthless. Telfair is a horrible player, and that just clogs up the floor for west, who is the only playmaker on that roster besides peirce.
I'm sorry I like my hometown basketball team, what the hell's the problem? Is Adrop0fVenom obessed with the Jets? Do other members love there hometown teams? That comment from you was just idiotic. If you actually watched any basketball, you'd know that Telfair is 21 years old, and played in Portland. The best wing man he had to pass it to there was Martell Webster, now he has Paul Pierce. Before his thumb injury, I bet you didn't know he got hurt, he put up 12 ppg with 8 apg (at 20 years old). Don't take this the wrong way but people like you get me mad when talking about sports they simply don't know. Your know a decent amount of footballs, mostly the Colts, but you just don't know anything about basketball.
you are giving telfair way way way too much credit. A true point guard can make all sorts of shitty players better. did telfair do that? no. does he have the ability to do that.. no. Telfair doesn't take care of the ball, he doesn't shoot well, he will never be great with his mid range or driveing game becuase he is too short. all he can do is shake kids and pass. NOt to mention what a beast he is on the D side of the ball. (joke, even though you will prolly come up with some lame ass excuse to say he is underrated on D)Honestly giving up foye for telfair and ratlif is just dumb. And then giveing up a future first for rando? that was almost as bad as the balkman pick the knicks made. This was a very weak draft, so you trade a future pick in a possible strong draft (it is shaping up to look strong) for a pointguard with a borderline 1st round grade. Most years he would have been picked in the early second round. Just because i hate the NBA doesn't mean i don't know shit about basketball.
Playing in Portland doesn't mean you have an excuse to be bad, careless, act Hollywood, think he's the star of the team, complain to the coach, not work hard, not play defense, take stupid jump shots and miss more than 60% of them. And Portland made the mistake of picking him at 13 to make his ego think he's even better. You said he drives and dishes. He drives and lays it up or throws it out of bounds because he's playing out of control. The main point of the Blazers bringing in Blake and Jack were to motivate Telfair and make him play at a higher level. That didn't work at all obviously or Telfair would have had a much better season for a PG oriented offense and former PG himself Nate McMillen. He's a scorer first when he's on the court. If the Celtics do indeed get Iverson, that's 3 players who think they should be the #1 option. He had Zach Randolph (a scorer capable of putting up 20 ppg), Dixon who is a solid shooter and defender, an athletic scoring forward in Darius Miles, and Pryzbilla who is a solid center that is getting better and is already a good shotblocker so it's not like there weren't players that couldn't score or play defense. And how do you figure he was averaging 8 assists per game when his season high was 8 (3 times)? Did he play 3 games and get injured? But you know what, you're a Celtics fan. You have to defend him. You'll always think Telfair is good for the team until he makes a bunch of major mistakes. Sure, he can play streetball but it's far from playing NBA ball.btw, while Wally is a better shooter, his stats actually went down going to Bosotn in the Ricky Davis trade.
I never said Wally's stats went up. You guys don't give Telfair anything, he was in a mess of a situation. He broke his thumb the 2nd week of the season, in which he had to wear a brace on his hand all year. Before that he shot 49%, not bad. Portland was team with a bunch of young guys with attitudes who didn't run, in Boston Telfair will thrive in a fastbreak team. His actual stats before injury where 12 ppg, 5 apgWe didn't just give up Foye for Telfair, we got rid of a 35 MILLION DOLLAR contract in Raef Lafrentz. And trading a first rounder for Rondo was stupid, but he might get traded for Iverson.
