There is a significant difference between having a gun to defend yourself and your business, and obtaining a gun you can't legally buy for the purpose of being a traveling vigilante... One makes you a responsible American, the other makes you a fucking idiot. And when things break the idiots way enough that he doesn't go to jail for murder he graduates to the status of Lucky Fucking Idiot.
I didn't say anything about a requirement. Ideally you'd have security or police on premises at these malls. But we should certainly support business owners who want to have a gun to defend their business from these acts. If they want to be there or pay am employee more, or even have an employee volunteer, it makes no difference to me. I also specifically said we need to up the pay and benefits of most employees.
The soft-on-crime Leftist policies that have been enabled in these cities in recent years are the cause of this. I think in SF you can now steal and loot up to $1,000 without it being a felony! Empower criminals and these are your results, 10 times out of 10. They can get what's coming to them as far as I'm concerned.
Or maybe these places have higher population and it's easier do something like this if there are enough people close enough who also want to do it?

Where is the outrage? Coming to a neighborhood near you. "Last weekend, the City of Oakland was inundated with armed roving caravans who targeted dozens of businesses, including pharmacies, retail shops, and a large number of cannabis operations," a statement from the police department said. "Individuals within the caravans are heavily armed and have exchanged gunfire with armed security employed by some of the cannabis businesses. Individuals within the caravans also fired multiple rounds at OPD officers responding to a burglary in progress early Monday morning."
