Bottom line is they are a business, and whether they resign with Comcast or not, the moda center will still be rocking every game with passionate fans that don't get all butthurt over it. Most of the people that complain have a simple solution. Sign up with Comcast.

sigh...you went into hyperbole mode with your comment about "fucking hating" the team or whatever it was you said, so I responded similarly. sigh...I don't "hate" the team, if I did I wouldn't post here, or listen to games. One can argue against something they've done (or not done) or an aspect of their franchise business model and not have the "me hate Blazers" mindset. Well, for starters I don't think it'll be true that if the team continues to alienate a certain % of it's fans with a TV contract that it's faulty, that the RG will be "rocking every game". They want to build their fan base with more people. It's not like we're Southern California here, where there are like 8 million people in the metro area. If TV wasn't an important factor to creating interest in the Blazers, they wouldn't worry about having games on TV period, because after all, the RG would be "rocking" ever game. But guess what? To a large portion of the fans, going to games isn't an option. So they rely on TV. And if the games aren't on TV, they lose interest real quick. Prime point, my uncle was a season ticket holder for almost 35 years, but about 6 years ago he gave them up due to his retirement. Since games aren't on TV (for him), he's lost his interest in going to the games because it's easy to forget the team is playing. You seem to forget that casual fans are also important to the attendance #'s. The team, even when it was winning against Houston in the 1st round 2 years ago, wasn't nearly as popular as it could be. Why? Not enough fans have access to the games on TV, and there's no buildup of interest. It's the same thing when the TV writers went on strike a few years back. So many shows were off the air for a while, and viewers realized there was a lot more to offer than the same TV shows. Many of those shows that were off the air, never regained their fans back. Same thing applies here, and it's not about being "butt hurt" (what are you, 14?). And not everyone has the chance to switch to a provider that offers CSNNW. It's cheaper to have Dish (for me) and in some cases (where my uncle now lives), cable isn't even offered since he lives in a remote area.
If dish is cheaper for you, that's on you to make the decision not to get Comcast. Call them up and use dishs prices to get the deal you want from Comcast. I'm starting to get the feeling you really never took business 101.
what about the 37% of Oregon where comcast isn't available? Should those customers take business 101 classes to help?

So this addresses the Blazers re-upping with Comcast knowing that comcast didn't actually try to negotiate with dish and direct, how exactly? It's been 9 years, and you're telling me that it should've taken that whole time to get a deal struck? Think of all the money they've lost because they didn't get $ per customer, each month, for 9 years now. And what about the customers who live in the black out zone, but don't have or can't access Comcast? And why should we sign up for a worse product that costs more? I'm just saying, I hope the Blazers don't re-up with comcast, or if they do they put in clauses that give them an out if an agreement isn't reached within a month of signing the contract. Without the Blazers, comcast sports NW isn't financially viable.
A worse product that costs more? I told you, use dish prices against Comcast when signing up. That's what I did with Frontier and Comcast when frontier fucked me, and Comcast hooked me up for internet and tv for $60/month. Personally I hate dish and directv, had both growing up. But anyways, I'm done with this conversation. Comcast is the devil and they suck because they make it hard for me to get good deals from them. They should just bend over and let me give it to them at all times.

Yes, lets just follow the masses instead of finding out for ourselves. Try it sometime. Comcast has bent over backwards and given me whatever I've wanted numerous times because I can play their game.
