This big man rotation is going to be somewhat tough to deal with. It won't be that bad in the very beginning, depending on when Aldridge comes back, but when everyone is healthy how are they going to find a way to split up all these minutes?

    Randolph
    Magloire
    Przybilla
    Aldridge
    LaFrentz

Randolph is Portland's #1 option, Magloire is a 28-30 mpg player, LaFrentz is a 20 mpg guy, Przybilla is about 20-22, then you have to add in the #2 overall pick in the draft?? Can you say logjam? How in the world is Portland going to split these minutes?

    C: Jamaal Magloire (29)/Joel Przybilla (19)
    PF: Randolph (34)

Then what? Around 14 minutes to split between Raef and LaMarcus? I don't think so. How in the world is this big man rotation going to work?

they'll trade Zach, move Magloire to PF and let Przy start. They'll use Lafrentz as back up PF and LaMarcus as back up C

If Magloire didn't play the 4 for the Bucks why is all the sudden gonna do it for the Blazers. If this would work he would still be on the Bucks. Aldridge is not gonna be a 5 in the NBA(Channing Frye).

Their not going to trade Zach guys. McMillan already said countless times that they are building their franchise around Randolph, and that is why they traded Telfair anyway, because his game didnt suit Zach's.Anywho, I think they will probably work their rotation around, and give everyone like 10-30 mins. Depth is a good problem to have anyway. They will work it out.

They said their going to be bringing Aldridge along slowly and he should be getting most of his minutes behind Zach at the 4. Magloire and Przybilla should man the minutes at the 5. Raef will probably be the backup 4 at the start then see spot duty at both 4 and 5 throughout the year in case of injury or rest by the other players. It's not really different from teams in the past who stockpiled on bigs. Especially in this case, where one is a rookie and won't be depended on and one(Raef) isn't someone demanding of minutes. The three major bigs in Vanilla Gorilla, Magloire and Z-Bo should get most of the minutes at the 4/5.

    1. They aren't trading Randolph. McMillan already said they chose to build around Randolph and deal Telfair.

    2. Magloire = C

    3. LaFrentz is a better fit at center than Aldridge. Aldridge is too much of a "newbie" and he is slim. Raef can at least to a decent job with backup 5's (and also spread them out when Portland is on offense), while Aldridge learns the post game with people closer to his size.

Raef doesn't demand minutes, but he has publicly stated last season he wasn't pleased with his playing time and touches here in Boston, and he is a guy that should be playing around 20 mpg.

Aldridge may be brought along slowly, but he was the 2nd overall pick in the draft and he has talent. He will get time.

Raef will be the odd man out by season end and most likely the one shipped later down the line. He should get his minutes at the start of the season, even though Aldridge was the 2nd pick, that's still no reason to throw major minutes at him. As his minutes increase, Raef's will go down and as you said he might voice displeasure but he's a team player and will accept a decreased role.
