well, I know that I wouldnt go to the Military, for one Im not cut out for that either, and the thought of killing for a country's greed like we have done in Iraq would not sit well with my conscience. Also, if there was a draft, I think I have some loopholes that can prevent me from going as well, for one, I need corrective vision, and Im the only Male "offspring" or w/e you call it in the family, so I dont think they can call you up on the first go with that. Either way, if you are drafted, you can object to it, and you will receive a special audience with members from the armed forces, if you can prove to them that fighting in a war, without a doubt, will go against your religious, consciencious, and moral beliefs, they will be forced to pardon you from your selection.BTW, to all of you that say that ya'll will escape to Canada......WELL, ya'll obviously havent heard of that little agreement that the good ol US of A had with em.... To anybody who goes emigrates, legally or illegally to Canada to dodge being drafted, Canada will and has the right to deport you at the United States request, either to go serve your tour, or go to jail....

Plus if they were part of the same War you might not be able to get out of it.

And I don't see Canada being in the same war as the US, let alone having a draft, any time soon.

Canadien troops are in Afghanistan with us, as well as Dutch, British, Australien, Romanian, Portugeese, South Korean, and a few other troops are in Afghanistan with us. So that is one war that they are apart of with us, and we have seen a few of the Canadien troops get wounded in combat or worse. So going to Canada might not help you out as much as you would think it does.

Therefore, you wouldn't be forced to serve.

They might not have a draft, but they can put into place a system where they send American draft dodgers back to the states, like someone else mentioned earlier.

IMO, war will have to be opposed on the US for us to have a draft...in which then I will probably be willing to join the military...its obviously a life changing occupation, but what needs to be done needs to be done. But I dont see us having a draft to still occupy Iraq or the middle east, I see Bush(or whoever the next president is) pulling our troops out before we would have to have a draft...
