Right now we have a full roster. We have four pending free agents (Nurk, Napier, Pat, Ed.) I also believe CJ Wilcox is a restricted free agent but I’m not 100% on it. We also have three non guaranteed contracts (Layman, Baldwin, Papa.)

I think Layman and Napier are gone. I’m 50/50 on whether they bring back Pat. They probably like him more than I do, so I’ll lean towards yes. Davis and Nurk should be back.

We can bring more than 15 guys into camp but realistically speaking we’re looking at adding ONE non rookie.

But for this debate, let’s go with two (either Pat or Papa off the 15. I’ll say bye bye Pat)

So what two vets do you want? Could also be someone we trade the TPE for.

I’ll go with Wayne Ellington and Courtney Lee. Two multi dimensional shooters.

Our second unit could look like this:

    Turner
    Lee
    Ellington
    Collins
    Davis

No more relying on CJ. A real second unit. Turner plays the role he had in Boston.

I'm starting to think Will Barton would be great here as a retread..he'd be great next to Turner off the bench...Will can throw an alley oop pass

I like Pat's hustle. Papa could see the door instead. He was a bench expert according to Stotts.

Of course but we can’t afford him and he’s been vocal about wanting to start so we can probably forget about a sign and trade

Yeah but we still presumably need a spot for a rookie.

Papa has a deal through the end of next season. NG'd I think but still signed for cheap.

I like Papas potential as our third center. Problem is getting rid of Meyers

But if we got Ellington and Lee there’d be absolutely no need for Connaughton.

Connaughton just barely made this year's team. They extended the summer decision deadline a month while they looked for anyone else. He's gone.

Would be insane to get rid of Papa... you won’t find a better prospect for a minimum contract as the 15th man. 7’2” only 20 years old and can shoot

I think they extended it because of Melo. Since that didn’t work out and we didn’t make any other moves, he ended up in the rotation by default. There’s no way this team can go into next season with him in the rotation again. I’m not against him staying and waiving a towel though, he’s got some creative celebrations.

The advantage for Connaughton vs. someone new is...he knows Stotts' system.

It's simple, if PAT CONNAUGHTON is a regular Part of your rotation than don't ask why you get sweept out of the 1st Round. That guy simply is just not good enough to play in the NBA If you want to make some noice in the Playoffs.
