What did ESPN do to you? Come out with it. You have us going .500 the rest of the way? Really? Exactly. Pacers and Heat have such an easy schedule. Dude. Totally different situation. We started that year 5-12. We were never 10 games over .500. We had a ton of very young very inexperienced players. This team is full of vets playing at the top of their game. By your definition, the Spurs will also finish at .500 since that's what happens when you have a long winning streak.
You said that we'd only win 46 games and that it'll be similar to what happened in 2007-08. What does 07-08 have to do with this season?
They did nothing to me in terms of employment or anything, but their blatant agenda pushing and brainwashing techniques irritate me. So I make sure to let people know. Some of the things they do openly, other times it's more subtle. However, if people choose (or not choose, since some are firmly gripped in the media hold) to, then that's their thing. I know I can't control them, unlike what ESPN (and almost all media) thinks they can. For the record, this isn't directed towards "anybody" it is an overall opinion of mine.
Be more clear instead of attacking me personally. I could insult you too but I'm above that in here. It must get you off.
Because they all have a recent history of being among the best in the NBA. They've already proven they can beat the best. We haven't yet.
What I wrote was perfectly clear. I just recognize your M.O. and pointed it out; there's no personal attack (i.e. "playing stupid" implies that you aren't actually stupid).
Gotcha. Good point! Wow. Why do you say that? Have you watched all the games? And what are you seeing that tells you we'll finish the year 29-39? Are you predicting a horrific injury to Aldridge? Or are you so jaded from past seasons that it's too hard to get excited? Serious questions.
At worst, we will be .48 the rest of the way and that's being realistic. So anyone that thinks we win anything like 42-46, should rethink things. You think we will be .40 the rest of the way? Wow
I haven't seen any of the games other than the Denver one. I just think we'll get hit by the injury bug, which stems from being jaded from past seasons. Then again, I've been more down about this team than most going into the season. I hope I'm wrong. Nothing would make me happier than to see this incarnation of the Blazers become a winning team.
I voted on 50-54 thinking we will get exactly 50 wins. That is almost best-case scenario for me though so I could see us getting 48 or so but I want to believe so 50 it is!
This is Stotts' 6th year/3rd team as a head coach. His highest win total was 40. His overall winning percentage is 42%. The defensive rating for his 5 previous squads was 22nd, 25th, 23rd, 27th, and 26th. Mags asked if anybody thought the Blazers would play .400 ball the rest of the season. That would be right in line with Stotts' career norm. As many people have pointed out in various threads, sustained success in the NBA requires constant adjustment. Stotts hasn't proven he can do that - yet. I hope the lightbulb has finally gone on for him and this is the year he breaks the pattern.
