Watched most but must admit turned off at half more than previous years. I watch a lot of sports and I find the older I get (and Im old) the easier it is to get burned out watching.
The problem for me is you’ve never heard any of players say “we’ve gotta win this game” and you never saw anyone upset when we lost. They weren’t trying to win. The coach definitely wasn’t. I simply can’t care if they don’t. When they’re trying again, I’ll watch. This has nothing to do with being a fair weather fan.
I record and watch every minute of every game. As a plus, it's a perfect time to chill on the couch with a drink(s) and noodle on the guitar.
This 100%. You're not more of a fan just because you watch when we suck. I just refuse to care if they don't. Once they do, I will. If we were at least competitive....
These games are practice. Yes, I'm talkin' 'bout PRACTICE. I enjoy watching and evaluating the young players and I find entertainment in both the good and the bad. I mean, I'm on the edge of my seat every time Murray shoots a three. It's the exact same form every time, but will it be a swish3, a brick, an airball, or hit a fan in the fifth row? Tune in and find out!
Why are we here? Isn't that really the question? I mean.....if we weren't here, we wouldn't be commenting on this. To get easy links to other Blazer info? Root for the team/owner/players/coaches? Complain about the team/owner/players/coaches? Be witty? Be sarcastic? Be real? (whatever the fuck that means) Hang with others whom you feel a comradery with? The partial list of reasons fans might continue to watch Blazer games this season are: Fans of the Blazers regardless of their record/ stature/effort Fans of basketball, period Fans of the broadcast team (I love the duo we have) Desire to see young folks as they grow Desire to see the coach grow Have a basket of tomatoes and no where else to throw them I find it odd that one would stay here, if they hated who the team was, where they were going, and who they are owned and coached by. But, we all choose why we are...or we are not here. Personally, if I stopped watching the games, you would not see me posting my drivel here anymore. That would be like staying in a miserable marriage, so you could keep on making sure the world knows just how miserable you are. Oh, one more thing......no amount of complaining or supporting the team here, will ever affect the team. Ever.
Think the only game I watched start to finish in real time was the win over the Bucks (figured the season wasn't going to get any better after that one) and maybe a handful of bits and pieces. Working my job and getting home at 11pm central time means the games are usually in the 4th quarter, so I might tune in but usually they are getting their doors blown off at that point when I check the score and there doesn't seem to be much of a point. I will watch the occasional YT condensed game or highlight reel but mostly just check out the box scores and see the chatter on here. It does me well enough to keep up with my text thread chats but my dad was pretty surprised when I told him how checked out I was on the season. The Blazers (and Cougs don't get me started there) are the only teams we share a rooting interest in and even if the season is a total shit show, just getting the chance to discuss with him keeps me at least somewhat engaged.
Once the team went full tank and stopped playing most of the veterans, I stopped watching. I figured if the team didn't care if they won or loss, why should I? I still check the box score during games occasionally, but if I wanted to watch G league games or summer league games, I would watch them. Not during the season though.
same here unless it's very entertaining and I sure don't look at this version of Blazers bball as entertaining!
The poll lacks an option "Way too much!" That's where I'm at. I have not finished following more games than ever as a fan. Each year of tanking cuts my enthusiasm for the team in half ...couple of good things this season to look forward to but all in all, a shit show of a season.
