<div class="quote_poster">og15 Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">I'm not agreeing with his argument. I was just pointing out that Wade was actually winning at a fairly good rate in the absence of Shaq. Also considering that the absence of Shaq had Jason Williams playing injured/out for a about 8 games, Posey on/off, and out for 10 games, and no Eddie Jones. The problem is that most reports of "without" Shaq show the whole team without Shaq, and add the 1-7 without Wade AND Shaq, which would make them 18-21 without Shaq, but actually 17-14 with Wade and no Shaq.</div>

Um and The Lakers haven't dealt with their own injuries?

Don't worry og, I understand what you're trying to say, but Kobe is just as good this year in the W department.

    <div class="quote_poster">THE DREAM Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">no game 1 and 3 also....I have a good memory....

Oh well I'll let you'll continue to think that the mans game has no flaws even though there are people who agree with my criticisms</div>

And what was wrong with game 1 and 3?

People agree that he takes bad shots and that Game Seven was a disappointment. Some of the other things you say are quite dubious.

Kobe has about as many flaws as Wade.

I know, that was actually my point, that both of them are able to win games quite well, even taking into account negative circumstances. The Lakers had Odom and Walton out themselves, and VladRad with his stupidity I guess you could call it.

For me right now, from what I've seen/heard, a problem could likely be with some of the players maybe not respecting the coaching staff, which never does good for the team. I mean Smush Parker? Common, who is he to ever say anything.

Yeah that should be accounted for.

Lol so true. I really hope they let that guy go after this season (speaking of the off-season, keeping Luke might be troublesome, that's depressing).

The Lakers were playing great team ball at the beginning of the season. Kobe didn't have to score 40 or 50 to win, at times, he didn't even have to score 30. But that was at the beginning of the season, when everybody was meshing and when everybody was healthy. Ever since Lamar Odom got injured, everyone else started to fall like a ton of bricks. Ever since all the injuries, the Lakers never really regrouped or returned to playing the way they did early on in the season. The Lakers play no defense what-so-ever, and must rely on Kobe to score on offense, or else they can't win. Last night was a great example. If Kobe doesn't score, we can't win. As Trench said in the Lakers forum, this team has been relying on Kobe to bail them out ever since the All Star break

    from Tex Winter

<div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">“I don’t know what happened to Kobe, taking just three shots in that situation,” Winter said in a phone interview from his Oregon home. “There were times when he had the ball, he didn’t look to do anything, didn’t look to assert himself. He didn’t look to create anything for himself. He did a lot of what we asked him to do for the series, and that was move the ball. Kobe’s the kind of player to always leave people puzzled about his shot selection.”</div>

    Again From Tex Winter:

    <div class="quote_poster">Quote:</div><div class="quote_post">
Bryant has always faced questions about the quality and quantity of his shots.

    ...

“Actually, for the most part, he’s not forcing up a lot of bad shots. When he gets hot, he does take shots that would be questionable for other players. But a lot of the shots he’s taken go in.”

What constitutes a forced shot for most players is not necessarily a bad shot for Bryant, Winter explained. “He’ll take shots that not many other players are going to be able to hit, and he hits them.”</div>

Please fellow, you only remember what you want to.

^^^^that's when he's hot though....you're not going to shoot an insane percentage from the field and score 50 in most games...you can't afford to take a good amount of bad shots against the leagues best and expect to win...it just won't happen...

What do you want Kobe to do? Score 20, or 30 against the league's best? There's no way we're going to win. Our best chances of beating top teams is if Kobe goes off and scores 50, because other players just don't step up

"for the most part, he’s not forcing up a lot of bad shots."

That's in general not when he's just "hot".

Who else is going to take the shots on the Lakers? Odom creates shots for other people and can slash somewhat, but he doesn't have the best mid-range game so Kobe takes up that responsibility. Yeah Houston and San Antonio might have players that can mess up Kobe somewhat, but he can efficiently score on many of the "elite" teams in this league. Tex Winter also says Kobe makes many of these "bad" shots.

Kobe's been averaging 37 points a game since All-Star break on a 57-58 TS%; that looks like Jordan to me.
