IF ^ can happen... even as much as a Dwight hater I am... I WOULD consider this a win & I would welcome him & Parsons.
Kaman, Henderson, and Roberts would be renounced to make room for Parsons. Leonard and Harkess gets you ~$8M of the $24M we need to get Howard. To get $16M more, we have to dump salaries: Vonleh $2.7M Davis $6.7M (minus those two, we're at $17M, still need $7M more) Aminu $7.6M We're there. This leaves us with Layman, Crabbe, Connaughton, Alexander, Montero, Plums
Also, I'd like to say that, w/o Parsons (aka Howard's buddy, which to me... makes a BIG difference because Parsons I believe CAN straighten Howard out), I would b still against bringing in Howard BUT W/ Parsons... welcome! ps I'm in favor 100% of any scenario that allows us to keep Noah, Moe, & Davis (I've seen all the $ talk from everyone w/ losing these guys & how it makes the most sense etc.) for ^. I know I'd just have to lump it IF 1 of these guys I mentioned is out to get Parsons & Howard in. Neil, I hope you're listening though, you can do whatever u need to do to bring Parsons & Howard here BUT don't get rid of Noah, Moe, & Davis! Please!
I thought cap holds for Leonard and Harkless higher than just $8M combined. Seem to remember $9M for Leonard and $7M for Harkless. Am I wrong?

IF we could get Howard and Parsons to agree to come for $20M each, we would (barely) have enough room to do so and still keep our RFA's by renouncing the UFA's, dealing Aminu/Davis/Connaughton, and cutting Montero/Alexander. Depending on where the actual salary cap figure comes in.
You can cut Montero Alexander Hendo Kaman Harkless Leonard Trade Davis/Connaughton And you can sign Parsons at 22 and Howard at 24. That still leaves a pretty decent roster. Dame CJ Parsons Aminu Howard With Crabbe, Vonleh, Plumlee, and Layman off the bench.
Didn't Howard say he was uninterested in coming here? I know Parsons and him are close, but I'm not so sure that would be that much of a difference would it.

On the contrary--all the reports I've read/heard regarding Howard included Portland as one of the places in which he IS interested.
I mentioned this in another thread, and I don't have a clear idea of how it would work, but isn't it true that we wouldn't necessarily have to clear cap space to make this work? There's still the possibility of doing a sign-and-trade involving the Rockets, maybe even including a third team.
