Outlaw has not missed 100% of the season. He's missed 80%. So yeah, maybe we are watching different teams. There is a difference between desire and leadership. What Howard did falls under the leadership category. Roy leads, on the court, through his play. With him out, the Blazers need someone like Howard to step up and fill the leadership void. That's exactly what Howard did. The fact that he's a 16-year veteran, usually quite jovial, and playing well above expectations at the age of 37 made what he did have an especially big impact on his team. He has the respect of his teammates. And when he's upset about the way they play, they respond. If one of the young players had had a similar tirade, it would not have had the same effect. BNM
Touche! I agree with this. I wish Andre Miller had a little more of that in him. He's playing very well and is the best 'established' player on the team with Roy out (LMA is still too young and seems to be more of a follower at this point in terms of leadership), and I think the young players would respond to him in a similar manner.
Nate and his amazing deductive abilities... Mere mortals would have also suspected Miller, Cunningham, Pendergraph, and Mills.
Looks like we're turning back into the Jailblazers ...I for one am not impressed!! Just kidding ...this is awesome! GO JUWAN!!
Miller's always been a quiet, introspective guy. He did have his little blow-up last month, which was very out of character for him. The team did respond though. They went out and stomped the Lakers (in spite of the media predicting doom and gloom due to this "distraction"). BNM
You know Juwan is a good guy when he felt bad for the mess he made and mentioned the guy by name (Matt) that would have to clean it up. He didn't WANT to do it, but he knew it NEEDED to be done. BNM
I think that was more like most of the team members were flat out afraid Knight would kill them if they fucked up. It wasn't a show, it was every day.
Howard has been a huge pickup. I had no idea he was still this good. Kudos to Pritchard for getting him.
