Now that i'v come down from the endorphin rush of getting one of my favorite players onto the blazers with a deal that makes me feel like were LA. I just realized we may have seen the last game prz plays in a blazer uniform ever and i'm really glad I was able to see it in person last night. The guy has been a rock since he was here, the enforcer and such a positive locker room presence. He will most defiantly be missed. I really hope him the best in whatever he does for the rest of his life, if he decides on a buyout and retires or if he decides on a buyout and wants to chase a ring. I hope he would decide to come back here if he wanted to continue to play. I'll respect any decision Joel makes, the guy is a class act to the end and will always be one of my all time favorite blazers.
Well Put. It's obvious he loved it here. Props to you Joel, hope you come back round. Repped, I feel the same way.
There's only one Vanilla Gorilla Thrilla'! Joel Przybilla. I'll miss you big man, hope to see you in 30 days.
I was happy before the trade. I've said I was fine with getting Marcus and Brandon back and seeing what the team could do this year. I'm happy after the trade. I like Crash. We have a difference of opinion about whether the price was ok, or a steal. Go Blazers
Joel is pretty over valued by the majority of fans in Portland. He is a nice guy, which always gives player a lot of cover when it comes to the holes in their game. Joel was a terrible offensive player, an average defender who gave up a ton of offensive rebounds because he tried to block so many shots. Overall he fit a need, but he made nobody better and basically had zero development in his time in Portland.
Oddly, just noticed that Charlotte comes to the Rose Garden on the 5th of March (and we play there on the 11th).
A true professional - there was never a question of whether or not he was leaving it all out on the court. I very much appreciate how hard he worked to rehab his knee and get back this season - it certainly helped facilitate this trade.
Why not just let people who like Joel have this thread? As you can see a lot of fans think very highly of him. No one is trying to make him out to be more than what he is or was. I can bump a recent one that brings up many of the same points that you did.
In 08-09, Joels DRR was 33.1%, in 09-10, it was 30.4% Those are insane percentages for someone who "gave up a ton of offensive rebounds". GTFO
Bump. If I'm in Portland on March 5th, and they didn't release Joel, I hope we give him one hell of a standing ovation.
Wallace's game should be somewhat similar to Darius'. Except Gerald actually tries, so he's a beast on D.
