"Theyre not getting traded in a package. Theese are totally different trades. And by the way Caron for Boozer would be a real good trade for the Lakers i dont know what your personal reasons are but it shouldnt get in the way of making the Lakers a better team." Actually i meant Caron OR Lamar. My personal reasons being, i just dont see boozer as having much upswing. He had a career year last year and it was somewhat impressive. He fills a void for sure and will be a good fit, just not what i would prefer. Whatever makes LA better is all i care about, getting the "W"
Shape is right, the official offer is Caron, George, and Vlade for Boozer. I wouldn't expect to here anything until tonight at the latest, and anything to be official until Tuesday...I believe league offices are closed until Tuesday because of the holiday.
WHOA WHOA WHOA..has anyone heard any rumors of Dallas ruining this trade. On CL, some members said that Mark Cuban contacted the Jazz and are willing to offer Jason Terry...anyone here this? Looking beyond that, could this move be one for Phil? Look at one of his Bulls championship teams..and compare it to what our lineup would be... Bulls/Lakers PG - Armstrong / Atkins SG - Jordan / Bryant SF - Pippen / Odom PF - Grant / Boozer C - Longley / Mihm Very close, scary if you ask me...could all this be for Phil?

Let me quote posto from CL, I think he is respected there:
Quoting Posto:

ESPNews just had Ric Bucher, Marc Stein, and Steven A Smith live in Denver and they told us that Mitch made an offer a couple days ago to the Kings. They said Mitch offered Odom straight up for Peja and Jeff Petrie laughed at the Lakers and rejected it real quick.. They went on to say the Lakers are in talks to get Carlos Boozer and have been discussing a trade with the Jazz the last couple days. The trade would NOT include Lamar Odom. They finished by saying talks are ongoing and if Boozer lands in LA, it will not include Odom and would be done soon. You can tell they were all Laker haters though, none of them were enthusiastic about it or gave the Lakers any kind of props for going after Boozer.
Thank the Lord we didn't trade Odom for Peja straight up.

Quoting Kobe 8 Ball:

WHOA WHOA WHOA..has anyone heard any rumors of Dallas ruining this trade. I dont think Mavs will be involved in any trade, given the current form and good team chemistry. However if someone is willing to take Bradley, I'm OK with that.

One had Jason Terry and Bradley going to Utah..another one involved Harris..I don't know, I don't want Cuban screwing this deal up.
I'm not terribly excited about the prospect of landing Boozer. While he's a tremendous rebounder, that's not the Lakers' problem. Surprisingly, they are amongst the league leaders in team rebounding (I think they are top 5). The Lakers are soft in the paint, but shotblocking is the best cure for that ailment in the case of the Lakers IMO, and Boozer's 0.5 bpg isn't exactly intimidating. We already have a non-shotblocking PF who can hit the glass (Odom). In addition, the Lakers give up on Butler, who has been asked to defend the opposition's best swingman, allowing Kobe to focus more on other aspects of the game. With Butler gone, Kobe will be forced to take on more (again). If the Lakers do this deal, I'd much rather give them Odom and maybe make Utah throw in an extra player (Raja Bell, Gordan Giricek etc..)
Here is a post from ESPN boards from a member named jazzmeister05, take it for what its worth...
Quoting jazzmeister05:

Was watching the 5pm News and the anchor said that the Jazz are set to deal Boozer to the lakers for Butler or Odom. It suprised me to hear Odom because he hasn't really been mentioned in the Boozer trade. Larry H. Miller, the jazz owner, is espected to release a major announcement tonight on the local sports show.

I'm surprised to hear Odom being mentioned for Boozer as well. Even if we get an extra player, I hate to see us trade an All-Star for a two roll players. The main player we got from the Shaq trade was Odom. I'd rather the Lakers give it more time with Odom instead of rushing to move him.
I am starting to think maybe Haley broke this story off of something he thought off, maybe there is no trade talk...I don't know...I still think something is going to happen...I think w/Boozer and Odom we will be contenders again.
Im not fond of moving caron and certainly not fond of the thought of moving them both! Not for Booz atleast. Too much upswing to be trading for a slightly above average PF whos had 1 decent year (i know hes only in his 3rd year)
Well Larry Miller just denied any trade with the Lakers on Sports Beat tonight. He said he talked with Mitch, but no trade is going down with the Lakers and Jazz
From Jazzhoops.com, LHM "I can't say I wish I didn't sign him, or that he has no value. Thats why I said that 3 teams were interested in Boozer. Boozer's head and heart are in the right place." "LHM: I have a very hard time finding any kind of circumstance of us trading Carlos Boozer."
Odom for Peja doesn't work straight up, they would have to throw in Bobby Jackson..I would rather have Baron Davis than Peja, Baron is a lot more versatile than someone who disappears come playoff time. Ugh, I am so sick right now..all that wait for nothing..get Kupcake out of office now...
