Been getting a lot of rain in this part of Florida, Tampa & St Pete flood bad enough during normal rain, but with the Tropical Wave over Florida we got an increase. Manatee & Pasco Counties have gotten the shaft lots of flooded streets, stranded neighborhoods and the like. Reminds me a bit of Monsoon Season in the Far East.
Yeah Michael I know what you mean, I lived in Florida for only a year but I remember how bad the rain can get.
so reminiscent of Katrina, when the fkng Mayor (now a felon doing time), refused to declare a SOE, not wanting to be embarrassed by evacuating, and the costs required IF the Hurricane rerouted and might of missed Nawlins. Nagin looted the cities coffers, and made the Fed's look incompetent, however years later, the truth be known. 12 years ago yesterday, as well as the days prior and post- clipped from Wiki- "The large number of deaths were a result of the insufficient response and evacuation before Katrina's arrival, primarily due to city and state resistance to issuing an evacuation order and risking "crying wolf" and losing face should the hurricane have left the path of model prediction. Had contra-flow on highways been initiated sooner and more buses begun evacuating families (including the idle school buses that were not used at all) the numbers of stranded New Orleans occupants would have been significantly less making the initial wave of FEMA supplies adequate and even excessive." Finger pointing rarely accomplishes anything other than revealing grown ups who shed responsibilities, yet in this wreck, all involved seemed slow encumbered, and overall emergency planning was caught with its pants down across the board(s). https://en.wikipedia.org/…/Criticism_of_government_response… then we had this classic tune, one of my favs....as a result- at least one thing good came out of Katrina/Rita, a classic tune, lmao........
...^^^hey Matts, just got your message and I'm sorry you and Kim are having such a hard time with health issues...keep your chin up and keep fighting.
...^^^ loved your message, it's a brawl knock down drag out, but that bastard is not winning, I guaran-tee!!! (chuckle), thanks for well wishes, keep dry, stay cool ya'll. I'm stunned watching whatever Hurricane news I can get, mostly via cell phone. I spent better part of 5 years driving/flying back n forth I-10 from Lake Charles (Chenault) to Houston and back. Blows my effing mind, knowing those bayou blues, rains down there like none I've seen less FLA, GA too, and a few other more minor cyclones while looking for that stolen yellow brick road in KS....^^^
Uh, right here, over here- Ye' can always send it this way, and I'll make sure it's appropriated to those in need.... do mentally scarred peeps whose life will never be the same watching this on Tv count as stricken victims....??? requiring donations and financial aide of course...(snickering)... ntm- I'm a Katrina/Rita survivor, that's right, I got the hell out of there before both, yet my middle Son is still stuck there in LCS somewhere....no communications, radio silence still.........
Addy, 10 feet under water @ 984 Vatican Rd., LCS, La. Wait a day or two before sending, as it will take my Walrus at least a few days to swim there...
No, but I have a Pet Whale named Walrus, and a Teradactyl named Bombs-away...don't tell no one, (endangered animals and minds)...
