100% feel you on that. Most of the research sites are down by Port St Joe, which is going to get destroyed. That place and Apalachicola are going to get absolutely obliterated.
These were the sites I monitored last time I was over there. The shorebirds will be fine. But the roads might not even connect after all of this.
They were planning on leaving this morning, but with the road conditions already dangerous, they are hunkering down in their place. Interestingly enough, the official hurricane shelter is a high school that is 2 blocks away from their place. There is no guarantee of safety going through a severe hurricane. But, their section of neighborhood is one of the more safer places in that area.
