I don't see how. Simply because he's republican. Not because of republican-like politics of not pushing gay marriage or whatever.

You'd think that the more openly gay elected republicans, the better, eh?

We'll have to just agree to disagree. I don't see it as any outrage, though. Hypocrisy runs rampant on both sides of the political spectrum.

You could say the same with blacks, too, yet black republicans are typically painted as Uncle Toms by the left, and are in part shunned by the black establishment.

Again, back to my generic union mention earlier. If someone was a member of a union, but would not support unions or push for union rights as a political party member, and a member of a party who might generally oppose unions, then it would stand to reason that he would not get the support of unions, even if he was himself a member of a union. They wouldn't think well, the mor union members in office the better.

What do union politics have to do with LGBT agenda?

Sounds like you're reaching to make excuses.

The uncle tom thing PapaG brought up is equally hypocritical, and pointed out in the article.

    to make excuses? come on.

I was making an analogy. LGBT is more than likely going to support a political candidate, left or right, who will help push for LGBT rights, protection, whatever. Their "agenda", though saying agenda makes it sound bad, IMO, but we'll go with it. They would support someone who is going to bat for them, why would they support someone who won't, just because he is similar to them in sexual preference. I think it would actually be far more hypocritical of them if they supported him strictly because he was gay. Same way, I was making an analogy, sorry if it's not PERFECT, but the same way that a union wouldn't back a union member who wouldn't help push a union agenda. I'm not making excuses for anything.

The left has always spouted "tolerance" but then preaches hate to anyone who doesn't fully agree with them.

Nothing new about that. The left has always been the party of hate in America.

He voted for LGBT "agenda" every time. 100% voting record. Where's the real beef? They booed him.

Like I said, the more elected gay republicans, the better, no? 100% voting records each and every one.

fox news/msnbc are basically the annoying friend you have on facebook that incessantly shares trumped up left or right wing propaganda

"obama is a muslim who wants to microchip your baby!"

"romney is a robot/alien! look how weird he is!"

do yourself a favor, dont watch either of them. ever. i feel like this is common sense.

seriously, if you find yourself agreeing with some spin bullshit they are selling, take a step back. its just advertising.

Uh.. no? That depends. It would be absolutely ridiculous to support someone simply because they are gay.

At this point I don't trust anyone who identifies as belonging to a mainstream political party to stick to their morals

    Political gain trumps all
