Religion 'I am Jesus Christ' lets gamers play through being crucified and fight Satan

A controversial game allowing people to take up the role of Jesus Christ and even be crucified looks set to be released, despite a negative reaction from some Christians.

An advert claiming to show off gameplay for "I Am Jesus Christ" has appeared on gaming platform Steam.

The trailer shows a game playing the role of Jesus in a first person view, healing a woman in a scene from the New Testament.

Another depicts the user being able to conjour up fish from nothing.





In one of the more controversial scenes, gamers can see through the eyes of Jesus on the cross .

The game even promises a fight scene between Jesus and the devil in the desert.


"Get into old times and follow the same path of Jesus Christ 2,000 years ago.

"The game is covering the period from the Baptizing of Jesus Christ and to the Resurrection.




"Have you ever wondered [what it would be like] to be like Him – one of the most powerful and privileged people in the world.

"Are you ready to fight with Satan in the desert, exorcising demons and curing sick people, or calm the storm in the sea."

The game has received a mixed reaction online, with some people finding it disrespectful towards Christianity, while other found it hilarious.

One wrote: "What in the holy hell is up with this trailer for the I Am Jesus Christ game."

Another added: "Most excited for the romance options in I Am Jesus Christ. I'm looking at you Jesus."

While one joked: "Play this good Christian game or you're going to hell."



Others joked the game would have to be delayed until Easter. But some weren't impressed.

One disgruntled gamer wrote: "Seems blasphemous."

Another added: "I'm catholic and what the f***."

And one said: "Not psyched about the gamification of my faith."
